Then why was he there?

Cho Advised Not to Attend Big School:

In a conference call to wounded victims and their families of the Virginia Tech massacre the panel investigating the attack said that Cho Seung Hui was advised not to go to a large school like Virgina Tech.

That was a key revelation in a private teleconference to brief injured students and their families on a report by a panel investigating the attacks, said Derek O’Dell, who was of the 23 injured in the April 16 attack that left 33 dead, including Cho.

A separate call was held later with families of the deceased, hours before the public release of the report Thursday.

“It was recommended that he not apply to school as big as Virginia Tech because he had selective mutism and also ongoing psychiatric needs that a big university probably wouldn’t address as well,” O’Dell said.

What I’d like to know is how did this barely functioning troglodyte (Cho) even get into Virginia Tech? After reading his “plays” and hearing about all his alleged mental difficulties it makes one wonder how he wasn’t a complete drooling idiot.

Virginia Tech Review Panel: Cho didn’t play violent games

In news that comes as a surprise to almost nobody, the report issued by the VA Tech Review panel has a short section in the fourth chapter that states the following:

He was enrolled in a Tae Kwon Do program for awhile, watched TV, and played video games like Sonic the Hedgehog. None of the video games were war games or had violent themes.

I have to point out that, even if they were violent games, it’s silly to believe that he’d been made crazy and/or violent by them. This is a correlation – not a cause, despite the latter rapidly becoming a popular superstition. I fully expect a functioning religion on the concept within fifty years.

At least this time the media quickly dropped the inaccuracies. Many of the Columbine myths persist to this day.

I would hope this serves as a lesson to those who would exploit mass murder to either pursue a personal agenda or get air-time – particularly when you’ve begun aggrandizing yourself while people are still dying. Jack Thompson and Dr. Phil, I’m talking to you.

Bizarre Dream

So I had the most terrifying dream of my entire life last night.

I dreamt that the world came to an end. I know that most of you would think I would be happy about that but yet I wasn’t. The world didn’t end in some cataclysmic event. It was just its time. It started to contract in on itself taking everything with it. Buildings that remained also started to collapse in on themselves. One of the most disturbing parts was that people were being so calm about it into just accepting it. I specifically remember two people waiting for the end that were arguing over something as trivial as what makes an appropriate present for a child.

As the building we were in became too confined some of us went outside. Not in a panic but just casually walked outside. We wanted to be “out there” when the end came. And came it did. In one instant in just ceased to exist. The last thing I remember is just floating in “the void” waiting to die.

Then I woke up.

MySpace feud leads to school brawl

Police: MySpace Feud Leads To School Brawl:
This is why I’m glad they didn’t have things like MySpace when I was a kid.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — An online feud led to a middle school brawl that ended with one student being arrested and four others treated for injuries, according to police.

The feud reportedly began over the summer, when a 15-year-old began arguing through the online social networking site MySpace.com with a classmate at William Dandy Middle School.

Tuesday, the feud turned physical when the teen allegedly punched the other student, then pulled out pepper spray when confronted by other classmates.

Police said they found an eight-inch knife in the teen’s backpack.

Then again in my day we didn’t take knives and pepper spray to school either.

Now get off my damn lawn.

Anthony Rich gets jail time

Man Gets Jail Over Photo Of Nude Ex on MySpace:
Back in February I posted about Anthony Rich. He’s the charming young lad who posted pics of his nude underage girlfriend on her hacked MySpace and distributed the pics on fliers at a party.

Anyway Mr. Rich pleaded no contest to child abuse and attempted child abuse which were reduced from charges that would have made the 19-year-old a registered sex offender. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail.

More on Christopher Leasher

Man Accused of Luring 15-Year-Old Girl Online:
Yesterday I posted about Christopher Leasher, the 24-year-old Pennsylvania “musician” who sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl that he met through MySpace. The article I linked to yesterday didn’t really go into detail of the alleged assault. This article does.

According to this article it wasn’t a matter of some jackhole getting some from some jailbait. The scumbag allegedly coked her up to the point that he almost killed her and repeatedly raped her.

Let’s hear from said jackhole…

Investigators say Leasher told the teenager he was a rock star and admitted knowing she was just underage.

“I have recorded some music and people paid attention to it. It’s flattering for anyone to find me attractive or to want to have sex with me,” the defendant told police.

“When I’m on drugs I don’t like to be alone. It was nice to have someone to talk to. When I’m online, I’m in a fantasy world. I get off on the idea just knowing I could be with a girl,” he allegedly told detectives.

To make matters worse mommy and daddy posted his bond so the freak is out.

Again if you want to see his MySpace it’s here.

Sin Metri

Father of accused CU attacker says son has been mentally ill for years:

There’s been more details released from the nutjob throat slasher, Kenton Astin, who attacked a student at Colorado U. Surprise, surprise, he’s been nuts for even longer than we knew. His dad spills the details.

Astin has been previously diagnosed as a schizophrenic. In 2001, he was acquitted of attempted murder by reason of insanity after trying to stab a 21-year-old man in Longmont.

Don says Astin was born as Jerry before he changed his name.

9Wants To Know has learned Astin had previously been known as Sin Metri, changing his name to Astin in July of 1999. He listed “to escape association with alcoholic father” as the reason for the change. He later changed his name to Kenton Astin.

“He’s had problems for quite awhile,” said Don about Astin.

Don says he noticed Astin’s mental problems around the time he reached high school. Before that, he says Astin, whom he still calls Jerry, was a smart kid who grew up partially in Colorado and partially in Montana. Don says Astin was the youngest of four children.

Don says at one point after the shootings at Columbine High School, his son became fascinated with the crime. Astin even once told a police officer his name was Dylan Klebold, one of the Columbine gunmen.

“Seemed to me he was trying to prevent it after it happened,” said Don.

Don says Astin was never violent until the incident in Longmont.

Astin was found fit for society again about two years ago.

Just from personal experience I don’t think he was trying to “prevent” Columbine in light of what happened. And how scary is it that the criminally insane are smarter than mental health experts?

Also I don’t know if this is how he came up with the name Sin Metri but it’s an anagram for Minister. But in Italian it means without meters but the only meter he was missing was his crazy meter.

Cho’s new paper

Paper by Cho Exhibits Disturbing Parallels to Shootings, Sources Say:

Details are being released that Virginia Tech gunman Cho Seung-Hui had written a creative writing class paper that portrayed a student plotting a school shooting. However in Cho’s paper the gunman does not go through with his massacre.

Cho wrote the paper for the “Intro to Short Fiction” class that he took in spring 2006, taught by Bob Hicok, an associate professor of English. The gunman described in Cho’s paper was in a high school. Cho, according to acquaintances and law enforcement sources, had expressed a fascination with the Columbine High School shootings while he was in middle school.

Mama’s don’t let your babies grow up to be mutants.

This paper, while not made public, is probably just as disjointed and as difficult to read as Cho’s “plays”.

The reason this is making the news rounds now is because not all law enforcement agencies investigating the massacre had this paper in their possession.

Several of the agencies probing the shootings had not been made aware of the paper’s existence, and the investigative panel appointed by Gov. Timothy M. Kaine did not receive a copy until recently. The university was supposed to turn over all of Cho’s writings to the panel, but this paper was left out.

Additionally, Virginia State Police officials, who also have a copy of the paper, said they could not give it to the panel under state law because it is part of the investigative file. Among the panel’s areas of inquiry is the sharing of information among state agencies.

So basically what we have here is a failure to communicate. A law enforcement protocol did not allow the paper to be given to other law enforcement agencies and the investigative panel. The paper itself is probably just more of the nonsensical ramblings of a bitter, selfish, and cowardly loser who couldn’t handle the deal that life gave him.

Don’t flush the baby

Missouri

Woman ‘tried to flush newborn down toilet’:

Reason to Blow Up the World

A MISSOURI woman and her newborn son were in hospital after she allegedly tried to flush it down a toilet at a McDonald’s restaurant, Kansas City police said today.

No charges had yet been laid against the 20-year-old woman, who worked at the McDonald’s, police Captain Rich Lockhart said,

The baby was fine after its ordeal, he was quoted as saying by the Associated Press.

The alleged incident occurred on Monday.

The woman’s colleagues called paramedics after checking on her when she didn’t come back from the toilet.

She allegedly told the paramedics she did not know she was pregnant and had tried to flush the baby down the toilet several times, Capt Lockhart said.

The child was still in the toilet and not breathing when paramedics arrived.

They administered CPR before rushing mother and son to hospital.

The baby had been handed over to state welfare authorities.

Safe Haven Laws people. Missouri has them too.

15 will get you 20 II

Bucks man arrested in alleged sex assault through MySpace:
24-year-old Christopher Leasher (MySpace deleted) of Mont Clare, Pennsylvania was arrested for giving drugs to and having sex with a 15-year-old girl that he met on MySpace.

Leasher was charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault, unlawful contact or communication with a minor and possession of cocaine with the intent to deliver.

According to court records, Leasher arranged to meet the girl at a K-Mart in Warminster Township, drove her to Philadelphia where he bought cocaine and Adderall, then took her to a friend’s home in Doylestown, where he sexually assaulted her.

Seriously. 24 and a car and you can’t do better than a 15-year-old and then you possibly try to give her coke? Pillar of society this one.

UPDATE 8/29/07: His MySpace has not been deleted and it’s right here.
