Another case of 15 will get you 20

Man, 35, charged after MySpace contact leads to rendezvous with girl:
The headline is a little misleading but I’ll get into that in a second.

35-year-old Gregory S. Malecki, of Feeding Hills, Mass. is under arrest for using MySpace to communicate with a 15-year-old New York State girl for purposes of sex. Malecki has ties to the New York area and met the girl before the two started talking on MySpace. Malecki was arrested when attempting to meet his victim.

In early November, the teen went to the Child Advocacy Center to complain about prior non-consensual activity, Salamone said. Malecki might face additional charges relating to that incident, he said.

I could not find a definitive MySpace for Malecki

Marine jailed for teen’s disappearance

Police: Marine Met North Side Teen Online:
20-year-old Lance Corporal Johnathon Plaisance of the USMC is behind bars for the disappearnce of a 13-year-old Pittsburgh, PA girl on Christmas Day. According to the article Plaisance and the girl were chatting over the internet over the past few months but didn’t say what site they were using. I couldn’t find a MySpace for Plaisance but I did find one on Facebook.

Anyway Plaisance traveled from Camp Lejeune to Pittsburgh where he and the girl shared a hotel room. Plaisance also proposed to her and presented her with a diamond ring. Being a 13-year-old girl who obviously didn’t know any better she accepted. And to top it all off…

They found that, “Two pornographic movies were registered to room 119 … the room where Plaisance was registered.”

Do I have any military readers out there specifically ones in The Corps? I’m curious to know what the repercussions for this kind of behavior would be within the USMC.

Thanks to Angie for the tip.

Prostitution is a risky business

Police: Boy who called prostitute called them when payment was due:

So this 17-year-old kid from the Austin, TX area decides to order a hooker from craigslist while his parents were out of town.

The next day the woman and two ‘associates’ showed up at the house demanding money. It’s unclear if the kid stiffed her or not the night before. The kid then calls the cops. In turn the cops use the information to set up a craigslist sting…

The boy’s parents were out of town when he arranged to meet Lindsey Force, 25, at his house, Williamson County sheriff’s Detective John Foster said.

The next day, on Dec. 23, Force, Bethie Coker and Allan Dehoff went to the boy’s house to sort out a disagreement over what they said he owed Force, Foster said.

Coker and Dehoff were arrested that day on felony drug possession charges, according to Williamson County jail records.

After the incident, Foster said, undercover officers used Craigslist to make arrangements to meet Force. Shortly after she showed up at the apartment they were using, Force was arrested and charged with prostitution, Foster said.

Jina Bender, who drove Force to the apartment, was arrested on a felony drug charge, Foster said.

In a separate meeting that was part of the sting operation, another woman who agreed to a meeting through Craigslist, Darlene Mullins, was arrested on a prostitution charge, Foster said. Greg Tedford, who was with Mullins, was arrested on an outstanding felony drug warrant, Foster said.

Do yourself a favor and don’t look at the mugshots.

And for any of you 17-year-old kids who may have the same idea while your parents are out of town don’t. You will be found out by your parents anjd you could be robbed or worse.

Ohio 2-year-old beaten to death

Ohio

Toddler dies from injuries; mother’s boyfriend admits to beating youngster:

Reason to Blow Up the World

An unconscious Tayvon Evans had cuts on his wrists from being restrained, a burn on his leg, bruising, lacerations, and injuries to his head and chest, police said.

The mother’s boyfriend admitted to police he had beaten the child and said the abuse had occurred over the course of several days, according to court records. The toddler died shortly after being taken to the hospital.

Mitchell Moore, 20, of 1702 Ottawa Drive and the child’s mother, Antionette Hairston, 25, who lives at the same address, were arrested and charged Wednesday with felony child endangering.

According to court records, the toddler was burned, beaten with a belt and a plastic hanger, and also punched and hit while his wrists were restrained.

Mr. Moore told police he abused the child because “he wouldn’t behave,” Captain Carroll said. The mother apparently had seen the child’s injuries, but told police her boyfriend concocted a story of how the child was hurt.

‘They’ should just start sterilizing people at birth now considering we don’t deserve to have children anymore.

The evil one loses whats left of his mind

Jack Thompson: Games Industry Colluding With Department Of Defense:

Just when I think the one who shall not be named can’t go any further off the deep end he goes and proves me wrong. This time he’s being fitted with a tin foil hat for his latest allegations. This time he’s trying to prove that there’s collusion between the Department of Defense and the gaming industry that’s turning gamers into merciless killers bred specifically for war. Of course he invokes the names of Virginia Tech and Columbine. Without those he’d have no game whatsoever.

I’m not going to go into the myriad of ways that he’s wrong because the author of the Wired article does it better than I ever could.

I actually feel kind of bad for Thompson. It seems like to me that he’s heading towards a mental breakdown and that one day we’ll be reading about a broken shell of a man.

Social Services probed after the death of Zoe Garcia

Weld County probed in deaths of 7-year-olds:

Weld County’s Department of Social Services of Colorado is being investigated in the wake of the death of Zoe Garcia. As I’ve mentioned Garcia was killed by her sister Heather Trujillo and her boyfriend Lamar Roberts when they beat Zoe to death while allegedly imitating Mortal Kombat. Neighbors had contacted Weld County DSS with concerns about Zoe’s well being but apparently DSS didn’t do enough. Yet I’m sure some people will be too busy pointing fingers at a video game rather than a failure of the system and a horrendous family situation.

craigslist check scam claims a Philly victim

Scammed out of three grand:

Anne Knorr of Philadelphia fell for the craigslist check scam when her fiancee was trying to sell some speakers on craigslist. Someone claiming to be a doctor from California sent them a check from a Tulsa, OK company for more than 3 grand the amount they were asking. Then the good doctor requested that she wire the excess back to him. She deposits the check, the check clears, she wires the money, then the check comes back as fake and she’s out 3 grand and she’s blaming the bank.

“There is no way I can pay that back,” she said.

“Unfortunately bank is taking advantage of this consumer. The bank made its statement clear, saying money was available. There was no way for the consumer to know anything other than the bank said funds were there,” said consumer advocate Lance Haver.

The bank says otherwise…

Wachovia disagrees, saying under federal law a scammed depositor can be held responsible “even if the check hold on the item has expired and your bank has made the funds available to you.”

In true Philly fashion the commenters on the original article are less than sympathetic with Ms. Knorr.

I’m not here to cast judgment but how many more red flags do you need? An out of state doctor writing a check from a company from yet another state for 3 grand over the requested amount.

It kind of reminds me of the joke about the guy who died in a flood while waiting for God’s intervention We he got to heaven he asked God why didn’t he save him and God says, “I sent you a truck, a boat, and a helicopter”. It’s a real funny joke. Look it up.

Miami realtor posts fake craigslist ad targeted at rival

Cops bust Realtor over raunchy dirty trick:

Mr. Bug-eyed Potato Head over there is 40-year-old Dean Isenberg. He’s a Miami area real estate agent. He was arrested last week for posting phony hooker ads on craigslist that listed the phone number of his top rival, Debbie Blasberg. I originally posted about the Miami real estate wars here back in July.

At the time police did not have enough evidence to charge Isenberg but apparently that has changed.

Miami-Dade Detective John Jones, of the Intracoastal station, also began investigating.

Nine of the 26 ads came back to an IP address that belonged to Isenberg. Investigators believe the rest of the ads had been done by laptop, accessing other people’s wireless Internet service.

In June, Jones raided Isenberg’s North Miami-Dade house, carting away computers.

”There is always a little bit of a trail. A little crumb and we were able to follow it back enough to get search warrants,” Jones said.

Investigators found ‘various portions’ of the ads on his hard drive, including the photos of scantily clad women, Jones said.

Isenberg is being charged with four counts of using personal information to harass and one count of using a computer in committing a crime. No word yet on what the potential sentencing could be.

Woman killed by pack of dogs. Guess what kind.

California

California Woman Mauled, Killed by Pack of Pit Bulls:

Reason to Blow Up the World: No surprise this time…

BARSTOW, Calif. — A San Bernardino County woman was mauled to death by a pack of pit bulls.

The Sheriff’s Department says deputies were called to a home in Yermo at around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. They found 45-year-old Kelly Caldwell lying in the street. She later died at a hospital.

Authorities say three dogs surrounded and attacked Caldwell, then ran to a nearby house.

One dog was shot to death by deputies when it returned to the scene and acted aggressively as paramedics were trying to save Caldwell’s life.

A second dog was shot to death Wednesday morning when it, too returned. Deputies say it became aggressive as an animal control officer was trying to capture it.

Authorities say at least one dog belonged to a neighbor.

I get the feeling the ‘neighbor’ was one of the forms of human trash (ie trailer trash, etc.) because that’s all I ever see with pit bulls, especially those who let them run loose.

Baby taken from FBO twice, FBO still kills baby

Mass.

Woman Accused Of Killing Baby Daughter:

Reason to Blow Up the World

A Peabody, Mass., woman will face a judge in Maine Wednesday as prosecutors attempt to have her brought to Massachusetts to face charges of killing her infant daughter.

On Friday, a grand jury indicted Jennifer Ward, 37, on charges she shook her 9-month-old baby, Jocelyn Ward Anderson, so badly she died. The Essex County District Attorney’s office said the cause of death was determined to be abusive head trauma.

DSS had previously taken the baby away from Ward for a brief time.

State Department of Social Services spokesman Richard Nangle said the agency took custody of the baby shortly after birth in February when both mother and daughter tested positive for drugs.

Ward regained custody after agreeing to outpatient therapy, but Nangle says the baby was again removed by the DSS after a report of neglect.

Ward regained custody of the baby a second time after completing a drug treatment and parenting education program.

Too many chances are given in society today.
