I received another reader e-mail about a scam. This time it’s an employment scam. I received the following e-mail from Sarah…
I applied for what seemed like a legitimate online position at a real company – then I heard back from someone named “Maurizio” (writing from “Anne’s” email) who wrote to me:
Dear applicant,
After reviewing the many qualified applications, we are excited to offer you the position of Financial Flow Coordinator.
Your resume and qualifications are quite impressive and we feel you would fit in well with our company.
Our Coordinator manages the day-to-day operations between our clients and suppliers. All Deposits from our clients are coming via balance transaction to coordinator’s credit card and going to our suppliers by International WireEgoldWestern UnionMoney Gram depends on location. Salary is $9800 monthly(the first month is trial).1-2 transaction per week, $1000-$5000 each. This job wont take more that 4-8 hours per week to perform, but everything should be done without any delays.
Please let me know in writing if you accept this position. Once we receive confirmation from you, we can discuss the details of the hiring process. I look forward to hearing from you soon and hope to be working with you.

I submitted my resume for a completely different position… nothing to do with Financials. I wrote back, and this was the response (you can see my comments in the response):

My name if Geoff Maxwell, I’m a manager at Beau Chenaux office in NY.
Feel free to give me a call 347-694-****.

We are basically using International Wire Transfers, and sometimes
Egold, PayPal or Western Union.
