Rohnert Park seller catches Craigslist thief on video:
Wayne Reavis of Rohnert Park, Califofrnia repairs and refurbishes expensive wireless devices like iPhones. He placed an ad on craigslist to sell an iPhone quickly. When the seller showed up he beat and robbed Reavis of cash and several different devices.
This isn’t the first time Reavis has been robbed like this. Back in November he was robbed the same way after placing another ad on craigslist.
Both suspects got away in the same type of car leading police to believe that they belong to the same group of robbers.
Personally if I was selling stuff on craigslist I would never sell stuff out of my house but that’s just me.
Of course craiglist’s mouthpiece is SHOCKED over this…
Susan MacTavish, spokeswoman for Craigslist, said the company was “horrified” by the crime, but the amount of violent crime relating to ads on the Web site has been “extremely low.”
“The overwhelming majority of Craigslist users are trustworthy and well-intentioned,” she said.
If it’s so low you’d think I wouldn’t have enough material to post on a daily basis yet here we are.
Doing business on craigslist at all is that great of an idea either.
