Tech suspect Zhu was attracted to female victim, friend says:
According to the article Virginia Tech murder suspect Zhu Haiyang had romantic feelings for his victim, Yang Xin.
If this was a case of spurned advances had Ms. Yang already rejected his advances? Or even worse did Zhu take the knife with him to the cafe expecting to be rejected?

Interior Secretary Ken Salazar went to the top of the crown with fellow Democrats New Jersey Sen. Robert Menendez, New Jersey Rep. Albio Siries and New York Rep. Anthony Weiner.
He said a study is underway on whether to open the crown to the public and that the review should be complete in April.
Opening the crown “is very important to me,” said Salazar, but he added that any such plan must include the safety of the public.
No actual mention of President Obama himself. Although I doubt the media will stop using him as a crutch.
Wife murdered for Facebook status:
Back in May of last year 41-year-old Edward Richardson stabbed his 26-year-old estranged wife, Sarah Richardson, to death allegedly over changing her Facebook status to ‘single’. A British court sentenced Richardson to only 17 years in prison even though the attack was brazenly brutal.
However I admonish the BBC and every other media outlet for using such fear mongering headlines. Sarah Richardson wasn’t killed because of her Facebook status but because her husband was a jealous and psychotic prick. If it wasn’t Facebook she would have probably been killed for not returning his phone calls or some other petty crap.
Also this is another example of the light sentences handed out in the UK.
MySpace page used against gang suspect:
23-year-old Spencer Bomberry had been arrested for slashing a man in the face but was out on $5000 bond. An assistant district attorney tried to get the judge to revoke bail by citing Bomberry’s MySpace. Obviously not the one I posted.
On Bomberry’s MySpace he boasted about his gang affiliation by showing pictures of himself wearing gang colors and giving the obligatory gang signs.
The judge didn’t revoke bail but did raise it to $50K. The judge even stated that it was Bomberry’s MySpace that hurt him the most.
For his obvious criminal prowess this gangsta gets awarded the brand spanking new…

A 40-year-old Shreveport woman has been indicted on aggravated rape charges, accused of having sex with an underage boy and telling that boy to have sex with his sister.
Shreveport police said Susan Johnston of Thompson Street is the second woman even indicted by a Caddo Parish grand jury for aggravated rape.
Assistant District Attorney Hugo Holland said Johnston is accused of having sexual relations with a boy beginning when he was 11 years old and continuing for two years. The little girl was molested starting at age 8, Holland said. The children were also told to have sex with each other on a handful of occasions, Holland said.
Under Louisiana law, sexual relations with a child under the age of 13 is considered aggravated rape.
Johnston and her husband, Brandon Johnston, were charged with second-degree cruelty to a juvenile in January 2008 after their 8-year-old daughter was stabbed in the chest. The man remains in jail.
The couple is set to appear in Caddo District Court on Wednesday for that charge.
Brandon Johnston also has been charged twice with failing to register as a sex offender. He was convicted of sexual assault of a child in Texas and did time at Huntsville Correctional Center.
I wonder is she became a child molester after hooking up with a sex offender or not.
One point for molesting the boy, another point for making him have sex with his own sister, another point for their own daughter being stabbed in the chest, another point for her hooking up with a sex offender and one last point for said sex offender not registering. That’s 5.

The girl was supposed to have been staying with a friend while the family sorted out an argument they had. Instead Regan took her to NYC and he didn’t allow her to call her family but allowed her to call a friend.

27-year-old Anthony Vincenzo Iacolino of Roseville, California has been arrested for ripping off several people on craigslist with the ‘the item doesn’t exist but I’ll take your money’ scam.
Life in prison, plus 24 years, for Randolph girl’s 2005 dismemberment murder:
The convicted killer of 16-year-old Jennifer Parks was sentenced today. Jonathan Zarate received a life sentence plus 24 years.
“You are an evil, vile, despicable killer,” Judge Salem Vincent Ahto told Zarate, who declined to make a statement. “Someone who took advantage of a defenseless, and at the time a confused and disillusioned child. You deprived her of a measure of her dignity by dismembering her.”
So what does life plus 24 years mean? In New Jersey you would normally have to serve 63 of 75 years before being eligible for parole. In Zarate’s case he would have to serve 87 years of his sentence before he would be eligible parole. Considering he’s 21 now he would have to live to 108 to even think about getting out. (Source)
I can’t add any better commentary to the sentencing than what the parents of Jennifer Parks said…
“It is said that nothing is ever written in stone, which means that it can be changed, but if you go to the Millbrook Methodist Church Cemetery, you will find Jennifer’s name, birthdate and day she was murdered on a tombstone and that is written in stone forever,” Parks’ mother, Laurie, said at Zarate’s sentencing.
Jennifer’s father, David Parks, cried as he told the court how sickened he became at hearing all the “legal ghouls,” and references to the constitutional rights of Zarate.
“My only child was brutally murdered by this animal,” Parks said. “I wish the death penalty applied in this case still.”
On a personal note I still send my prayers and condolences to the Parks family.
And to Zarate I hope you have fun in Rahway you scumbag. The fact that you’re still drawing breath is a travesty of justice.

Chinese student decapitated at Virginia Tech:

At approximately 7:00 pm Wednesday (0000 GMT Thursday), Yang Xin, a 22-year-old graduate student from Beijing, was killed at an Au Bon Pain cafe on the Virginia Tech campus in Blacksburg, Virginia, university officials said.
They added that emergency contact records suggest that Yang and the student who murdered her, Zhu Haiyang from Ningbo, China, knew each other. According to officials, witnesses said Zhu, 25, attacked Yang with a knife.
“There were seven witnesses in the cafe. There had been no argument, no shouting” when the young woman was attacked, said Virginia Tech spokesman Mark Owczarski, confirming that Yang had been decapitated.
The Collegiate Times, the university’s newspaper, said police received a 911 emergency call minutes after the assault and the officer who arrived at the scene found Yang’s head had been cut off. The murder weapon, a large kitchen knife, was found at the scene.
In a copy of a police affidavit published by the Collegiate Times, the officer said that when she arrived at the scene she found Zhu holding Yang’s head in his hand.
Zhu was charged with first-degree murder and was being held at a county jail. He had not had a record with university or local police, the school indicated.
In other reports the weapon was said to be a large kitchen knife and that Yang Xin was only at Virginia Tech for only 13 days.
For that you sick son of a bitch you get 13 points for each day that she was there before you brutally and needlessly took an innocent girl’s life.
