AC Hit By Craigslist Crackdown Fallout:
As I’ve said many times before I grew up right outside of Atlantic City, New Jersey. I’m old enough to remember when the casinos first moved in. Which also means I’m old enough to remember when prostitution boomed in A.C. because of the casinos. I remember when Pacific Avenue became synonymous with prostitution. I could regale you with tales like Orca the Atlantic City madam who lived with some of her girls in the family town of Longport, New Jersey. And yes her name was also a description of her physical appearance.
I haven’t been back to America’s Playground in years so I don’t know if Pacific Avenue was ever cleaned up but I had heard rumblings that it had.
Apparently like most other cities the prostitution trade turned to craigslist. Now with the recent changes to craigslist the ‘independent contractors’ have moved to the casino bars. Like this is new?
I have a better idea for the working girls of Atlantic City if they don’t like the recent changes to craigslist. Stop being whores.
I will admit that this is the first evidence that craigslist new adult services section may have changed things for the better. At least back home.
