Used Car VIN Scam on Craigslist, Part 2:
Here’s a new craigslist scam I haven’t heard of. Some unscrupulous types are utting fake Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) on used cars and then selling them on craigslist.
What this means is if you do a carfax on the VIN listed it could come back as the most pristine car you’ve ever seen. However the actual car could be a totaled car, flood car or possibly stolen.
