The hikers in Iran

Let me preface this by saying I wish no ill will to the hikers being held in Iran and I hope for their families that the government of Iran releases them.

However I have to question their actions. I mean who goes hiking in a war torn country (Iraq)? And if you’re that skilled of a hiker how do you get that lost that you end up in Iran.

The whole situation makes me wonder if it was all some sort of misguided protest against the recent elections in Iran.

I hope they come home soon and that it doesn’t take 444 days.

These Americans are arrogant to think they can roam at will. They have provoked Iran, lessened our relationship with Iran, expect to be rescued by taxpayers, aimed for and got worldwide news coverage and likely will publish a book. The pre-border crossing dance video was a simpleton plan to “show how innocent we are”. I do not buy it for a second. Secretary Clinton and the diplomatic staff have enough on their hands than to have to negotiate these misguided adult hikers way out of jail. Leave them there for a couple of years. They reinforce the Ugly American stereotype when they disregard other county borders. Have you heard of a Mexican “accidently” crossing into the USA border, then, producing a video dance to show how innocent they were? AND, these hikers went to BERKLEY? Give me a break.
