Man Pleads Not Guilty In Woman’s Death:

19-year-old David Sparre of Jacksonville, Florida is just one in a series (collect the whole set) of alleged ‘craigslist killers’. He’s accused in the July 12th stabbing murder of 21-year-old Tiara Pool. The pair met through craigslist’s personals. I originally posted about the murder here and here.

Still no motive in the brutal murder of the mother of two however prosecutors say they are seeking the death penalty.

One of these days I’ll take the 15 minutes to number all the craigslist killers that I know about.

WTF Shreveport? Teens raping children

Tipster Louisiana Lori sends me stories from time to time from her native Shreveport, Louisiana. They usually end up on either News of Doom or over at Bad Breeders. The latest story she sent me from Shreveport I couldn’t determine which section of the site it should go in since it fit a couple of different categories here at TRCN. However when I started researching the story I found two more stories of similar crimes. The fact that they happened in such a small area in such a short time is staggering.

Our first story, and the one that Lori sent to me was about 17-year-old Victor Everatt Stewart of Shreveport. He’s been arrested for raping a 10-year-old and 8-year-old boy.

The mother of one of the victim’s discovered a porn site on their computer. The victim said that Stewart showed it to him and his friend. The investigation uncovered that Stewart allegedly raped both children.

While researching that story I found this story about a 15-year-old from Shreveport who raped an 8-year-old.

Then I found this story about 18-year-old Raiesha Tonette Goodnight of Bossier City, which is only 2.4 miles away from Shreveport, who was arrested for raping a 12-year-old boy.

I realize this is just anecdotal occurrences but damn Shreveport that’s too many too soon too close together.

California Man Anthony Lozano Jealous Over Facebook Message, Imprisons and Tortures Girlfriend, Say Cops:

36-year-old Anthony Lozano of Hanford, California may have a wee bit of a jealously problem. He’s been arrested for allegedly torturing his girlfriend for four days all because she conversed with a male friend on Facebook.

For four days Lozano is said to have bound her and beat her and choked her with ropes and towels because he thought that she was being unfaithful to her. Did I forget to to mention that two children were at the home while all this was going on? Nice guy.

I still don’t get the whole jealousy thing. I mean I have more female Facebook friends then my wife. She has more male Facebook friends than me. Neither of us really give a rat’s ass. Jealousy is unproductive. If you’re significant other is really cheating on you dump them and forget them. This way you won’t end up in jail.

Before we get into today’s contest It’s time to announce last week’s winner. That would be MamaLisa for this epic comment…

Ah, CraigsList, how do I count the ways? The reasons I boycott you? At first, it was simply because it was so hard to find what I wanted, such a pain to drill down, and so many of the ads didn’t even have photos — requiring me to call them or email or something. It just looked smarmy to me. I much preferred to do my shopping on eBay, where I could see a seller’s performance rating. I loved the ability to “watch” items, and it was so much easier to find the best price. So, poor usability and no way to judge the sellers before buying were my two main reasons for never using CraigsList.

Fast forward a few years, and I started hearing so many stories about criminals using CraigsList to find their next victims. I thought, “Ewww. I always new it was creepy. I knew it smelled bad.” And then, the sex crimes and sex trafficing reports started, and quickly started snowballing. The robberies and other such reports also seem to be snowballing, while Craig and his protege do nothing but cover their own asses.

I find it serendipitous that you mention the start of “Erotic Services” coincides with Buckner’s appointment as CEO. I am not one to judge people by their looks, but when you couple Buckner’s slimy sidestepping, dodging, and blame-shifting of the child trafficking issue with his creepy, sinister appearance — well, let me say, I have a feeling that Buckner is no stranger to the Sex Trade.

I will proudly wear my t-shirt, and I will proudly point people to CraigsCrimeList.com when they ask me why I wear the shirt. I’m sure a more than a few folks will say, “but it’s free! It’s great! I don’t have to pay to sell!” To them I will say, “Ask the young girls that are sold for sex on Craig’s List how free it truly is.”

It’s trenchreynolds.me but I’ll overlook it. But what a great comment.

62-year-old armed man shot to death at TN high school

Parents, students react to fatal shooting at Sullivan Central:

It isn’t known why 62-year-old Thomas Cowan stormed into Sullivan Central High School in Blountville, Tennessee with two handguns but what is known is that he didn’t make it out.

Police say that Cowan went into the school armed with a .380 and a .25. He was approached by Principal Melanie Riden and Resource Officer Carolyn Gudger. He pulled his gun and Officer Gudger pulled hers. When Cowan refused to put his gun down Officer Gudger put five holes in him killing him on the spot. Luckily no students or staff were injured.

The local sheriff’s office says that they have no doubt that Cowan was there to kill someone it’s just unknown who or if he had anyone in particular in mind.

This is the new breed of school shooter that has slowly been gaining ground over the years. The crazy adult who usually has some axe to grind. Charles Carl Roberts IV and Bruco Eastwood come to mind. I know adult school shooters are not a new phenomenon but they seem to be becoming more frequent.

Also I’m guessing that mugshot was taken in happier times.

Buckmaster Blogs: Amber’s Ambush II

In his latest blog post craigslist CEO Jim Buckmaster responds to CNN’s Amber Lyon’s alleged request for an interview.

He accuses Ms. Lyon of engaging in tabloid journalism by ambushing craigslist founder Craig Newmark with ads for prostitution on the website that bears his name. I say good on her. At least she’s out there doing real reporting instead of just regurgitating whatever the AP posts. This is was journalism is supposed to be like. How else do you expect the media to get any truth out of either one of you when both of you basically only speak through your mouthpiece Susan MacTavish Best.

And again Jimmy B is trying to deflect the true story here which is the fact that child prostitution and human trafficking is still taking place on the website that you run and Craig is the face of.

It seems they’re still not parting with that $30 Million in sex money anytime soon.

Delaware tagger busted on MySpace

Graffiti vandalism suspect arrested on 60 charges:

There’s one type of criminal that I like to see get busted almost as much as sex offenders. That would be vandals, especially the kind that like to think of themselves as artists.

For example take 32-year-old Brian Durkee of Newark, Delaware. He’s been arrested on 60 different graffiti charges dating as far back as January of 2009. Police had suspected Durkee but didn’t come up with any damning evidence until they looked at his MySpace where pictures of the alleged art were discovered.

Speaking of the art thing it’s not like he was painting any actual art as police say he was only spraying his tag.

I checked out his MySpace and he says he’s also a tattoo artist. I wasn’t that impressed with his tattoo work either. On his MySpace he says that “People Have Killed for my Tattoos–Fact!” I wonder if that means that people killed themselves over their generic and average tattoos.

In his latest blog post Craigslist founder Craig Newmark finally gets around to making excuses as to why he had no real answer when CNN’s Amber Lyon confronted him about human trafficking on craigslist.

He blames it on the notion that he has borderline Asperger’s Syndrome which is also called borderline Autism in some circles. so basically he’s saying that he’s a borderline borderline Autistic. That’s a bunch of crap. While he may be socially inept he is far from stupid. Anyone who would have seen the ad that Ms. Lyon presented would have known that it was for prostitution which is still an illegal activity. Any normal person that was running a classifieds site who really didn’t want prostitution on their site would have said something realistic like “My God that’s horrible. I’ll look into it right away”. Instead Craig just asks if the ad has been reported. Um, last time I checked adult services ads could not be flagged. Just checked again, nope, you can’t flag them.

He then goes and claims that he is no longer in charge of craigslist which is true. He mentions that Jim Buckmaster has been in charge for the last 10 years. Which ironically is roughly about the same time that the original erotic services section first appeared on craigslist.

Then he goes on about how he is allegedly sensitive to the plight of those being trafficked but then mentions about how socially conscious he is by supporting veterans, net neutrality and transparency in government. Yet he still does not lift a finger to do anything real about human trafficking like shutting down the adult services section.

Following his blog post is some comments from the cult of craig that basically kiss his ass. I wondered why there were no opposing comments and then I noticed the following…

Comments are moderated, and will not appear until the author has approved them.

That’s kind of ironic for a number of reasons. The first is that he and Jim won’t moderate craigslist yet they both moderate the comments on their blogs. The second is that for someone who supports net neutrality and transparency in government he’s not very neutral nor transparent on his blog.

Man faces jail time in child luring case:

Defence argues 31 months’ time served enough for Sechelt man who lured girls for sex:

29-year-old Jesse James Aimee of Sechelt, British Columbia was convicted of using Bebo and MSN to lure two girls, ages 12 and 14, to his home and having and sexually assaulting them, or as I’ve called it many times before child rape.

Aimee’s lawyer is trying to say that he was unaware of the girls’ ages. I’m sorry but if you can’t tell the difference between a 12-year-old girl and someone that’s legal you have no business trying to have sex in the first place. Plus I seriously doubt he cared how old they were since he was living with his mommy at the time.

His defense attorney is also calling for double time served which would come to 31 months. I don’t know where he got double time served bit this isn’t a video game with power ups. Even sadder is that the prosecution says a sentence of 6 years would be ‘reasonable’.

He raped two children yet 6 years is considered reasonable. I would admonish Canada for having such light sentences but the US is no better.

Arrest Report Reveals New Details in Henderson Officer’s Arrest:

Occasionally you’ll see me use the phrase “Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?” which loosely translated is Latin for “Who watches the watchmen?” or “Who guards the guardsmen?” if you want to get literal. This is one of those instances.

Henderson, Nevada police officer Michael Stevens, 34, has been arrested on charged craigslist prostitution after his alleged prostitute of choice dimed him out.

Las Vegas police arrested Jill Robbearts on prostitution charges which caused her to tell them that Stevens was using her services. Robbearts was able to assist LVPD with setting up a sting where Stevens was arrested. The AP says that Stevens tried saying that he was working vice but the local Nevada articles says that he admitted what he was doing was wrong. Stevens is said to have met Robbearts on craigslist.

How can we doing anything to combat human trafficking when it is being supported by allegedly crooked cops. And yes I do realize that cops like Stevens are in the vast majority but one bad apple like Stevens can also tarnish the reputation of entire departments.

Again I recommend Geebo.com where every ad is monitored and there is no human trafficking.
