David Bradt sentenced for Facebook child rapes

I last posted about David Bradt here.

Bradt, of Colonie New York, pleaded guilty to raping 4 underage girls that he met through Facebook. On some of them he used booze and weed in order to subdue them.

Back in January he pleaded guilty to the four rapes under a plea deal that would only get him 12 to 13 years in jail. This past Thursday he was sentenced to the 13 years with 10 years of supervised release. No word if this puts him on the sex offender registry but I imagine it would.

Normally I would be bitching about a plea deal like this however Bradt has not only waived his right to appeal but he probably has more victims than just the 4 that he pleaded guilty to and prosecutors could still try him for those if more evidence is obtained.

Hopefully he will be and that the sentences won’t be concurrent. Concurrent sentences shouldn’t even be a term in law.

And remember what I said in my last post about Bradt, just because Facebook isn’t as low rent as MySpace it doesn’t mean that parents should let their guards down about sexual predators.

Last night I watched an episode of The Outer Limits called The Duplicate Man.I thought the episode was set in 2011 because they had a plaque at a museum that read 2011 AD. While the episode actually took place in 2025 it was still interesting to see what the 1960s thought the 21st century would be like. Here’s what I posted on my Facebook while watching the episode.

  • Watching an episode of The Outer Limits that takes place in 2011. Apparently we were visited by space aliens in the 80s and 90s.
  • It seems we have cords on our picture phones in 2011 and we still drive cars from the 60s. The cars also have two phones with 1960s like cradles mounted on the dash. What is the 2nd phone for?
  • $100K gets you a clone. Bargain.
  • We have ray guns that look amazingly like .38 revolvers with 50s looking sci-fi crap glued to them.
  • Police cars still have the gumball machine lights on them and police will gladly give you a ride home.
  • We use mine cars instead of stairs to get to our flying saucer shaped homes.
  • The picture phones are rotary dials.
  • Ray guns are still good for an old fashioned pistol whippin’.
  • Bootlegged clones will get you life in prison.
  • My bad, we brought the aliens back to Earth. Or Erf, if you will.
  • Clones only live for 5 hours and will stalk your wife.
  • Garage door openers are the size of bricks.
  • An iPad is an actual pad of paper.
  • Ring tones are still annoying.
  • We haven’t conquered cobwebs yet.
  • Clones will shoot an alien in the dick.
  • Then the alien will body slam you and impregnate you.
  • Your clone will let you die and steal your wife.
  • The End.

Father-X Page 21: Into the archives

I followed Frank into the archives and almost immediately I was lost. This was Frank’s playground, not mine. I wandered about for 15 minutes more looking for a way out than finding Frank. After about five more minutes I started freaking out. I tried disguising my fear by yelling at Frank and how I was going to kick his ass, if he was even in range to hear me.

I turn the next corner and there’s Frank. I about jump out of my skin and Frank almost laughs himself to death. It was like watching a talk show host laughing hysterically at a guest while the sound on the TV was turned off.

“Jesus Frank, you scared the hell out of me.”

Frank finally composes himself. I’m about to yell my lungs out at him when he makes an almost ‘Voila’ like gesture motioning behind him. Before I could get my first curse word out my I look up and I notice what Frank was gesturing to. During the months that Frank was gone he had constructed a private library within the depths of the archives complete with a chair, a lantern, a desk and some other equipment.

Man Accused Of Using Craigslist To Solicit Sex From Teenage Boy:

Sad Panda with the long face over there is 42-year-old Kevin Weiner of Columbus, Ohio. He was picked up by ICE agents for allegedly posting an ad on craigslist looking for sex from a teenage boy. ICE agents responded to the ad posing as a 14-year-old boy.

When investigators raided his place they say they also discovered child porn on Weiner’s computer.

So the ad was probably either posted on the personals section or the casual encounters section. Both sections are still not moderated by craigslist and predators continue to use them unabated to find their victims.

Common sense would normally dictate to moderate these sections but apparently craigslist is lacking in that in spades.

Geebo.com eliminated their personals section to prevent this so why can’t craigslist at least monitor their’s?

Abortion vs. guns in South Dakota

In South Dakota a law was recently enacted where women seeking abortions would have a 3 day waiting period before getting the procedure done. Of course the pro-abortion crowd has an issue with this.

However I have to ask how this is any different from the 48 hour waiting period needed to purchase a handgun in South Dakota?

While I’m not a fan of guns purchasing a gun does not guarantee someone’s death. An abortion does.

Bear sprayed for Blackberrys in Burnaby, BC

Not in the face!

Man bear sprayed and BlackBerrys stolen after posting on Craigslist:

Two brothers from Burnaby, BC (not AD) were bear sprayed by assailants in a craigslist deal gone bad.

The brothers were selling two Blackberry smart phones that they no longer needed and arranged to sell them through craigslist.

They met the supposed buyers in a well lit public place in front of many witnesses but that didn’t stop the suspects from spraying the brothers in the face with bear spray and stealing the Blackberrys before running off.

As has been stated before meeting someone in a public place do make a craigslist transaction is no longer a guarantee of safety.

Alleged Colorado craigslist scammer, NATHANIEL MARSHALL, arrested

Man arrested after 9NEWS investigates Craigslist scam:

I love this article by 9NEWS in Colorado, apparently they’re rather proud of themselves for getting a craigslist scammer locked up. It seems that an investigation they did led to the arrest of one 39-year-old NATHANIEL MARSHALL of Aurora.

NATHANIEL MARSHALL was allegedly renting out a condo that not only wasn’t his but was for sale.

This is the typical craigslist rental scam where someone claims to be renting out a property at a bargain price when the property is usually for sale. NATHANIEL MARSHALL is not the first scammer to be busted but it’s usually someone from overseas. NATHANIEL MARSHALL.

Craigslist condemned house scam leaves family homeless

Condemned home leaves family homeless:

A family from Cleveland, Ohio rented a home in Decatur, AL that they found on craigslist. The family moved south in order to find work but when they got to the house it wasn’t exactly in the condition they thought it would be.

Not only were there repair workers living in the house but the house was in such bad condition it’s been condemned leaving the family homeless.

The homeowner is saying that he has never had any contact with the family which wouldn’t be surprising considering how craigslist real estate scams work and the scam artists have no heart whatsoever and don’t care if a family is left homeless. All they care about is stealing the money from their victims.

Again a moderated classifieds site with user profiles would go a long way in discouraging these scams.

Shooting at Martinsville West Middle School in Indiana

One person has been shot at Martinsville West Middle School in Martinsville, Indiana.

The suspect is said to be an expelled 15-year-old and his brother was supposedly detained as well.

No word yet on the identity of the shooter or the victim. The victim was shot in the stomach and flown to an area hospital. The victim’s condition has not been released.

The incident is said to have stemmed from a previous incident at a school dance that took place earlier in the week.

I’ll have more as details are released and as time allows.

UPDATE: The victim is said to be a male student from the school.

UPDATE 2: The gunman allegedly posted on his Facebook that “today is the day”.

UPDATE 3: The victim is said to be 15-year-old Chance Jackson and he is said to be in critical but stable condition. My prayers and thoughts go out to him and his family at this time.

UPDATE 4: The suspect’s name is Michael Phelps and the two allegedly had a confrontation over a girl.

It’s ok. 4 is nowhere near as drastic a change as 3 was.

It’s faster than 3 and it has more screen space which is good for netbook users.

Basically if Opera and Chrome had a baby it would be FF4.

Not enough to unseat current champion Rock Melt.
