***SPOILERS***
I’m sure I’ve said this before but I’m a big fan of the Robin character probably more so than Batman. When I was a kid I was always expected to live up to someone else’s reputation so I identified with Robin since he had to live to Batman. This is why I loved this comic this week with Damian Wayne trying to prove that he’s the best of the four Robins. I guess Stephanie Brown gets the short shrift here but that’s a minor complaint. The bonus is that they are including Jason Todd in this as well. My only gripe is that I still hate the new Red Robin costume. I much preferred the cowl and cape look for Tim Drake.
Also good was Batman #10. This would have been my pick but it was still part of the Night of the Owls storyline which has still sucked until now. The good part is we’re finally getting the pay off I had been hoping for in Owlman retconned perfectly for the New 52.
Not so good this week was the latest installment of Before Watchmen in Silk Spectre. While I found the exploration of the backstory of the Minutemen to be interesting I found the background story of Silk Spectre II to be more appropriate for an after-school special.
