Anthony Brinkman, Missouri Father, Arrested For Craigslist Ad Seeking Someone To Beat, Rape Daughter:

Anthony Brinkman

Some of you may have heard of this story. We’ll get to why in a moment. First the grisly details and I do mean grisly.

32-year-old Anthony Brinkman of Cuba, Missouri was recently arrested for an ad he allegedly placed on craigslist. I mean it’s no big deal right? Tons of people post ads on craigslist and don’t get arrested right? So what’s the big deal. Oh nothing really. Except that Brinkman’s ad was allegedly soliciting the rape and beating of his own 11-year-old daughter. That’s right kids. Daddy Brinkman wanted someone to beat and rape his 11-year-old daughter while he watched.

Thankfully the ad was called in by an anonymous tipster and police were able to react. They set up a meeting at a local chain restaurant where Brinkley was arrested with his daughter in tow. I guess he wanted it to happen right then and there. Investigators were even shocked that he brought his daughter so willingly.

So how come this story actually made national headlines even though this took place in a flyover state? I think the level of brutality that Brinkman wanted for his own child is what thrust this story into the national spotlight. Unfortunately in the days since this story broke it’s almost already been forgotten. No outrage anymore. It’s just another forgotten story and because it’s forgotten so quickly craigslist won’t be taken to task for allowing this kind of activity to take place on their website. People will continue to use it like nothing happens on craigslist and possibly some freak like Brinkman will actually get away with some sick and violent sexual fantasy that involves their children.

I implore you not to let that happen.

Had to comment on your constant ragging on craigslist for criminals using their site to facilitate their crimes. I find it akin to gun control advocates blaming guns for the crimes. Craigslist has no responsibility if people choose to misuse their product much as gun manufacturers have no responsibility for crimes committed using their product.

I find your comment akin to comparing apples and oranges.

Craigslist is more like a flea market. Now if dozens of people shopping at this flea market were murdered don’t you think the organizers of the flea market would hire some better security?
