Most times when it comes to child prostitution and sex trafficking I’m usually talking about websites like Backpage or craigslist. However every once in a while I’ll talk about a social networking site like Facebook. Some pimps and traffickers find that social networking is a powerful recruitment tool.

Case in point, police in St. Louis County, Missouri have arrested 39-year-old Anton Mark Morris for prostituting teen girls and women that he recruited through Facebook. I actually started to type craigslist there. Force of habit I guess.

According to police Morris recruited a 16-year-old girl through Facebook and used the usual promises of money, gifts and a better life. Of course that is never true. Instead he forced the girl to recruit others to work for him. Morris also allegedly held two other girls, ages 17 and 19, against their will and forced all three of them to violated by strangers for money. One night when Morris fell asleep one of the girls escaped and got in touch with police. Morris is actually looking at life behind bars since St. Louis County has a pretty stiff human trafficking law.

Parents, once again I urge you to talk to your children to tell them that if someone online is promising them money and gifts that they are out to do them harm. It’s the same as the ‘never take candy from strangers’ principle except taken to an entirely new level.

Two charged with the sex trafficking of a minor:

31-year-old Daniel Tanck and 29-year-old Robert Palermo, both of Rochester, NY, have been charged with prostituting a 14-year-old girl on Backpage.com. The victim states that the pair knew her true age and had taken photos of her to post on Backpage.

When the girl went missing the girl’s mother went through the girl’s Facebook page and saw a picture of her daughter on Tanck’s Facebook page. This leads me to believe that the girl may have been recruited by Tanck on Facebook. Social media is a breeding ground for pimps and traffickers looking to prey upon young girls. They promise them a life of money and partying before putting them out on the street or worse. So as I always say, parents, please keep track of your child’s internet activity. You are the only defense between your kids and monsters like this.

Sadly Tanck and Palermo are only looking at 10 years behind bars and even sadder Backpage continues to make a profit off of these girls that are being sold for sex and have no signs of stopping.

Jennifer Dempsey accused of faking cancer, having sex with minors:

35-year-old Jennifer Dempsey of Phoenix, Arizona was arrested recently for allegedly raping two boys, ages 14 and 16, that she met through Facebook. Now the news articles will say she ‘seduced’ or ‘had sex’ with the boys but let’s call it what it is, rape. It may be statutory rape but rape nonetheless. In case you’re wondering the age of consent in Arizona is 18.

Authorities say that Dempsey posed as a 16-year-old pregnant girl on Facebook and told both victims that she knew her parents. According to reports this shouldn’t be unusual since she’s a faker of epic proportions. According to police she also had her family convinced that she was suffering from cancer going as far to shave her head, buying wigs and having a chemotherapy port attached to her chest, albeit taped to her chest. She even tried using the cancer defense on police saying she was too ill to rape her victims.

Police believe that the rapes may have been going on for some time.

People with information related to the case are asked to contact the Phoenix Police Department’s Family Investigation Bureau at 602-534-2121 or Silent Witness.

Now there are going to be some douchebags out there who are going to say there’s no crime here. These are the same guys, and it’s always guys, who say I wish I was getting that tail at 15. You people, and I use that term loosely, are borderline pedo defenders. Yes I realize it’s actually called ephebophilia but a creeper by any other name is still a creeper. These are probably the same guys who call all women sluts. If this happened to my son when he was 14 I wouldn’t have been patting him on the back saying ‘Noice’. I would be at the courthouse every time this predator had an appearance to make sure that she was going to jail. As the old saying goes if this was a 35-year-old guy who ‘had sex’ with a 14-year-old girl we’d all be storming the jail house with pitchforks, torches and nooses.

Anybody who thinks this form or any form of child molestation is acceptable should do society a favor and kill themselves.

Just when I ask why don’t we hear about more Facebook predators one comes slinking out of the woodwork.

Police in Irvine, California have arrested 30-year-old Zachary Reeder of Orange, California. Reeder was a teacher at an Anaheim high school at the time of his arrest. He’s been charged with posing as a young girl on Facebook in order to get underage boys to send him explicit photos of themselves.

This ploy has been around since at least the days of MySpace and probably is as old as the public internet itself. Parents, you really need to have a talk with your boys about this to let them know that in reality most girls their age are not looking for nude pictures of them. If you don’t want to have that talk with them let me give you a little encouragement. Child porn purveyors are usually more than happy to share their cache of child porn with other pedos so God only knows in what other hands pictures of your kids could end up in.

To make matters worse since Reeder’s arrest earlier this month 70 more alleged victims of Reeder have come forward.

Anyone who may have been victimized by the suspect or with information regarding the case was urged to call Irvine police at (949) 724-7184.

Liberty County sex offender found teen prey on Facebook:

Police in Montgomery County, Texas arrested 38-year-old Stanley Haney of Liberty County for allegedly soliciting a teen over Facebook for sex. Investigators were notified by a 13-year-old girl’s mother who told them that a Facebook friend of her daughter’s was posting inappropriate messages on her Facebook page.

Investigators then posed as the teen and another 15-year-old girl on Facebook. They say that Haney sent sexually explicit messages to both teens and agreed to meet both of them. At one of the meetings Haney was arrested. Haney is a registered sex offender. I was not able to find out what his original offense was. Again the registry doesn’t stop predators from re-offending.

Good job on mom for taking the time to not only monitor her daughter’s Facebook page but also having the courage to notify police.

Now it’s been a very long time since I’ve posted about a Facebook predator. Much like I asked about Backpage has the predator problem on Facebook been curtailed or is it just being under-reported? I would have to say under-reported. When MySpace was at the height of its popularity there was never a shortage of stories about MySpace predators. That’s because even though MySpace seemed to be everywhere it was mostly seen as for kids and young adults while Facebook is seen as being for all ages. Plus Facebook is so much more ubiquitous than MySpace ever was that it’s just seen as another communication tool like e-mail or text messaging. If a child is approached by a predator through e-mail or text I doubt it would make the news. Facebook has become that banal that predators on it are no longer news in my opinion. That’s a shame really because if they’re not in the news than it can lull some parents into a false sense of security that Facebook is somehow safe from predators.

Tyler Hadley expected to use ‘involuntary intoxication’ as defense in murder trial:

Recently Tyler Hadley’s public defender stated that more than likely he intends to file for an involuntary intoxication defense for his client. A then 17-year-old Hadley bludgeoned his parents to death and then held a party that he invited his friends to through Facebook. The party went on while his parents lay dead in their bedroom.

So basically Hadley’s defender is blaming the murder on booze and drugs. That would be all well and good if Hadley was on something like PCP but he wasn’t. Supposedly Hadley was on Ecstasy that night. While I’m no drug connoisseur I was under the impression that Ecstasy had quite the opposite effect. If Hadley did take anything prior to the murders my guess would be on alcohol so he could give himself liquid courage. Hadley already had his plan in mine when he killed his parents. The booze and/or drugs just helped it along.

Newly released evidence: Hadley planned a second party after killing parents:

Tyler Hadley is the Florida kid who is charged with bludgeoning his parents to death with a hammer before holding a party that he invited his friends to on Facebook. His parents bodies were in the house while the party went on.

New evidence has been released from the investigation and it seems to point to the fact that Hadley was a few McNuggets short of a Happy meal. According to some of the items mentioned in the evidence was that Hadley had planned on holding a second party the next night, that he had an eating disorder, he was a woman trapped in a man’s body and that he heard a black woman’s voice in his head. It also included this little view into his psyche…

Hadley stood behind his mother about five minutes while she played computer games, “thinking about whether or not to do it.” He hit her once; she looked at him and said, “Why? Why would you do this?” Mandell said Hadley reportedly replied, “Why the (expletive) not?”

But I think the real motive behind the killings were good old-fashioned selfishness and greed.

Mandell said Hadley admitted stealing $11,000 from a trust fund overseen by his parents.

Friends of Hadley’s told authorities he had about $5,000 on the day of the homicides.

All the other stuff could just be a teen who is craving attention.

Reno man accused of posing as woman on Craigslist, sexually assaulting victim:

Man arrested for sexual assault and coercion:

Craigslist never ceases to amaze me in the levels of depravity its users will sink to. Case in point, take 31-year-old David Schmitt of Reno, Nevada. Police say that Schmitt would pose as a woman on craigslist in order to rape women that had posted ads in the women seeking women section.

Schmitt allegedly sent his victims nude pictures of some women and in return they would send him pictures back. Schmitt would then use the pictures and information he got from the victims’ Facebook profiles in order to blackmail them into having sex with him. If they did not comply to Schmitt’s demands he would rape them.

So far only one victim has been identified but police believe he may have more victims.

If anyone has information related to this crime, the suspect or has been victimized by Schmitt should contact the Reno Police Department at 775-334-2115, Secret Witness at 775-322-4900.

AGain ladies, gay, straight or otherwise, if you put yourself out like this on craigslist you could be making yourself a victim to scumbag predators like this. This also shows not to put all of your life’s little detail’s out there on Facebook as well. Too much information can be a dangerous thing.

UPDATE 9/16/2012: Schmitt has pleaded guilty. He’s looking at 10 years for each extortion charge and 20 years for the attempted rape. He’s scheduled to be sentenced in November.

Facebook predator gives girls weed and booze before raping one of them

Facebook ‘friend’ accused of sex assault:

Again with ‘sex assault’ and not rape, but I digress.

25-year-old David Atia-Osorio of Trumbull, Connecticut has been arrested for allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl that he met on Facebook.

Using the alias ‘David Escobar’ he promised the girl weed and booze if he’d meet her at a Dunkin’ Donuts. The girl decided to being a friend who was 15-years-old. After the pair met ‘Escobar’ they went back to his place to partake in his promised contraband.

The 15-year-old eventually passes out and when she comes to she sees him ‘forcibly having sex with her friend’ as the article calls it. Real people who aren’t bound by the AP style book would call that rape. The 15-year-old screams and Atia-Osorio stops what he’s doing and drops the girls off at a local store.

It took police over a year to finally catch him simply because he used a fake name and the girls could not identify where he lived. Police say that Atia-Osorio admitted getting the drunk and high and having sex with the 17-year-old but denied raping her. Maybe this assclown thinks that date rape isn’t like rape rape. That’s how some of these scumbags think. It’s too bad scum like this are separated from the general; prison population then he’d find out what it’s like to be the victim without being drugged.

No kids, police didn’t arrest Shaggy for mainlining Scooby Snacks in the Mystery Machine. That’s 23-year-old Henry Allen Ross of Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was arrested at a payphone for allegedly soliciting sex from a 12-year-old girl over Facebook. First off why the hell was a 12-year-old girl on Facebook and apparently Tulsa still has payphones.

You see kids, a payphone or ‘phone booth’ was something us old-timers used before the advent of cellular phone technology. It was what we had to use if we wanted to make a phone call while we were away for our cave houses. And Superman changed clothes in them before that was thought as creepy. And you couldn’t take pictures with it or play Angry Birds on it. Text messages were something we called ‘letters’.

Anyway while I’m giving shit to the parents I will say that they at least taught this girl well for the most part. It seems that Ross and the girl had mutual Facebook friends. The girl lied and said her age was 14 I’m sure just to get on Facebook. Like that makes it any better that he was creeping on a 14-year-old. However when the conversation between Ross and the girl turned sexual she told her uncle that the conversation was making her feel uncomfortable. The girl’s grandmother called the cops while the uncle got on Facebook posing as the girl and commandeered the conversation.

At that point reports say that Ross asked the ‘girl’ to meet him at a payphone. That should have been a dead giveaway he was talking to an adult. What 12-year-old knows what a payphone is? Getting away from my payphone obsession that’s when police rushed to the meeting spot and arrested Ross.

I wonder if Ross made his phone call from the only place where you really only find payphones anymore. Jail.
