Men Have Rights Too

Men, keep quiet on abortion:

(Log in info) This is an opinion piece in my local paper the Charlotte Observer. It’s written by a woman, Avis O. Gachet, who is a book dealer in Hickory, NC. Her opinion is that men have no right to weigh in on the abortion debate because we don’t give birth. May I say to Ms. Gachet how incredibly sexist I think that is. Men take place in half the creation process so why shouldn’t we have half the say?

Let me tell you a story that I haven’t told you in many years. About 11 years ago a girl whom I had just broken up with told me she was pregnant and that it was mine. Which I don’t doubt. We were using protection but, as the left doesn’t like anyone to point out, no protection is 100% foolproof. She told me not to worry because it was an ectopic pregnancy. At that time I was ignorant in such matters. She told me that she just needs to have a simple procedure to have it removed and that it wasn’t really a baby. Lie #1. She told me that she had scheduled her procedure and then had to reschedule. Lie #2 because I found out later that with ectopic pregnancies they take you into surgery on an emergency basis. So as it turns out she was legitimately pregnant and had an abortion behind my back. She never asked me if I wanted to keep the baby. It was never an option for me. At the time I had been with the same company for 7 years so I had a steady job with decent income and great health benefits. I would have been more than willing to provide for my child. Again, I was never given the option. I was not abusive towards her. I have never been abusive towards any woman. She just didn’t want to have a baby but again I, the father of the child, had no say in the matter. I was willing to be solely financially responsible but that “choice” was taken out of my hands. So Ms. Gachet not only is your opinion that men should have no say is not only sexist it’s incredibly arrogant. You come off sounding like the stereotypical angry feminist who thinks that all men are irresponsible pigs whose only goal is to impregnate as many women as possible and avoid all the responsibilities.

I also have to take you to task for some of your reasoning in your article. In your article you state…

Did I ever face a demanding husband who wanted unprotected sex when we could not provide for one child, much less six or seven — or maybe 13? No. Did I have to deal with a damaged pregnancy with the long-term prospect of an ongoing caretaker role for which I was inadequate? I did not. Was I a victim of my father’s incestuous behavior — perhaps when I was 12? No. Was I battered in pregnancy because my drunken husband found me an unattractive sex partner? No, I was not.

You act like every unwanted pregnancy is due to some kind of unwarranted sexual attack. You’re almost saying that a woman is too good to allow herself to get pregnant if she doesn’t want to. If that was the case we wouldn’t even be having this discussion. And when you say “did you have to deal with a damaged pregnancy with the long-term prospect of an ongoing caretaker role for which you were inadequate?” smacks of eugenics. First of all what do you consider a “damaged” pregnancy? You make it sound like it can only be the husband’s fault for unprotected sex. To coin a very cliched phrase it does in fact take two to tango. Does a woman not bear any responsibility for an “unwanted” pregnancy? You also talk about not being able to financially provide for a child. So by your logic if I can’t afford to take care of a loved one that is an invalid I should just have them killed?

Another quote I take issue with is this…

Should legal abortion be left up to the individual states? No. A battered, impoverished wife should not have to fly to Wyoming because her home state would not allow her to terminate a flawed pregnancy. These are the United States, after all.

While I can sympathize with the plight of battered women as I have witnessed it firsthand your argument is flawed at best. So what you’re saying is if a woman is battered and poor she should terminate the pregnancy even if the pregnancy is viable? Not to mention that even if certain states were to outlaw abortion I think that your example of the battered wife would be an extreme minority of the cases crossing state lines. The majority of those who would cross state lines would be those looking to kill their unborn children as a matter of convenience which is the ultimate act of irresponsibility.

Many want to eliminate birth control — except by self-control and voodoo. If you doubt that, just ask them.

My that’s a broad generalization. I have no desire to have birth control eliminated but again it has to be said that the only true way to prevent pregnancy that doesn’t involve any act of killing is to simply not have sex.

The zealots attack the clinics and demonize everyone whose views are not their own, often using outrageous language and illegal tactics.

Isn’t that what you’re doing right now?

Throughout you’re entire diatribe you neglect to mention the alternative to abortion that benefits everyone. Adoption. So many people are out there for whatever reason can’t conceive their own children and would love to give a newborn child a home. Yet you feel like it’s almost an obligation for women to kill their unborn child. And this isn’t coming from some kind of religious standpoint either. It’s coming from the viewpoint of an adoptee who is grateful that I’m older than Roe v. Wade.

I feel sorry for you that you have such a wanton disregard for life and such a blatant prejudice against men, religion, and adoption. I’ll pray for you.

40 Million Dead

Democrats consider new tack on abortion:

(Log in info) Lazy blogging time for me again. This is an opinion piece from Cal Thomas who hits the nail on the head with the Democrats’ position on abortion…

In a Dec. 23 New York Times story headlined “Democrats Weigh De-emphasizing Abortion as an Issue,” several prominent Democrats suggest their party should at least open its doors to abortion opponents and make abortion less central in future party campaigns.

Some party leaders said Democrats might embrace at least one restriction, such as parental notification before a minor girl can get an abortion. Donna Brazile, who managed Al Gore’s 2000 presidential campaign, said, “Even I have trouble explaining to my family that we are not about killing babies.”

Maybe the reason she is having trouble is because that is precisely what is happening. More than 40 million children have been killed legally in America since the Supreme Court imposed Roe vs. Wade on the nation 32 years ago next month.

Democrats seem unconcerned that so many discarded members of the human family are not with us. These were 40 million taxpayers for new Democrat programs; at least 20 million women, some of whom might have become feminists and Democrat voters; 40 million people, one of whom might have discovered a cure for cancer or other dread diseases; 40 million once regarded as “inconvenient,” but surely not if they would have been allowed to be born; 40 million branches of family trees who will, themselves, never bear fruit and whose lines have been cut off.

Comments by Democrats trying to get back into the “moral issues” game are revealing. Sen. Dianne Feinstein, California Democrat, said Republicans had “been successful at painting the view of the pro-choice movement as abortion on demand — and nothing can be farther from the truth.” Perhaps the senator might wish to explain her voting record, which to a fair reader might prove abortion on demand is precisely what she favors.

Feinstein voted no on a criminal penalty for harming an unborn fetus during a crime (March 2004), voted no on banning partial birth abortions except for maternal life (March 2003, October 1999) and voted no on maintaining the ban on military abortions (June 2000). Feinstein was recommended by the liberal Emily’s List of pro-choice women (April 2001). She received a 100 percent rating by NARAL, the National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League, for her pro-choice voting record (December 2003).

If the public perceives that the Democratic Party favors abortion on demand, it is because of senators (and many other Democrats in Congress) like Dianne Feinstein who have not done anything to curtail abortion.

There is only one reason to restrict abortion and that is because what is being killed is a human being. Any other “reason” seeks to invoke a moral standard one has just denied.

Indeed.

God, I’m lazy.

T-Shirt of Death

Just when I thought the abortion ship was the most disgusting thing I had ever heard about the assclowns at Planned Parenthood come out with this…

It’s the “I had an abortion” T-shirt. On what planet does anyone think that this is a good idea? Let’s take a look at the total stupidity of this idea in no order of importance.

First it makes Planned Parenthood look more ridiculous than it already is. Just the named Planned Parenthood smacks of eugenics. I guess they believe that bringing a new life into the world should be scheduled like a vacation or something. Only when it’s convenient for the host body I guess. Never mind that death is never convenient for a developing life. I have no problem with them distributing birth control, education, and screening and treatment for communicable diseases.. That actually shows a degree of responsibility, but for them to suggest that someone get an abortion just because its inconvenient is just reprehensible.

Secondly if any woman is stupid enough to wear this shirt she is going to be targeted. She night as well just be painting a big bullseye on her back for abuse from the assclowns on the other side of the argument, the anti-abortion wingnuts. You know the kind that like to blow stuff up. Is making a point seriously worth taking your life into your own hands every time you go out on the streets? However I can see some moronic celebrity or three wearing these shirts as a political fashion statement. Which is not only making them a target but it will make the celebrity worshipping drones think it’s not only ok to have abortions of convenience but that it’s perfectly safe to wear it out. I wouldn’t even doubt that Planned Parenthood and the pro-baby killing movement would love it if someone was killed while wearing that shirt. They would make them a martyr to their cause.

Thirdly no one should be proud that they got an abortion. Even if a woman got one because of rape or endangerment to her life I really don’t think she would be proud of it. I don’t think she would be bounding in the door jumping up and down yelling with glee “I just had a baby sucked out of my uterus and killed”. And if you are proud that you’ve ever had an abortion then may God have mercy on your soul.

Ship Of Death

Dutch Abortion Ship to Fight Gov’t Travel Ban:

Well, this is kind of the most disgusting thing I’ve ever heard. Oh wait. The disclaimer. I almost forgot.

DISCLAIMER: Trench does think that in the extreme cases of rape, incest, and endangerment to the mother abortion may be an alternative.

Having said that, this may be the most disheartening thing I’ve ever head of in my life. A floating vessel of baby death. Floating from country to country just staying within international waters so they can dispense their doses of death. At least the Dutch government has come to their senses and told “Women on Waves” that they can’t operate 25km outside of Holland. We also have some typical baby murdering quotes…

The foundation says a woman dies every five minutes somewhere in the world because of an illegal or unsafe abortion, and that its doctors provide counseling and abortions in international waters where Dutch ships operate under Dutch law.

“These are totally unnecessary deaths and they can be prevented,” said Gomperts, who founded Women on Waves in 1999.

“As a doctor it is totally unacceptable to know that you can help somebody but you have to turn them away. You know they have nowhere to go except to a backstreet abortionist, or to do it themselves. They risk their health and their lives,” she added.

So let me get this straight. Every five minutes two people are dying instead of allowing a new life to come in this world. Excuse me if I don’t get choked up. Every five minutes two lives are being snuffed out all in the name of shirking responsibility. Abortion is the ultimate cop-out.

Life is Unconstitutional

Judge Blocks Partial-Birth Abortion Ban as Unconstitutional:

In San Francisco. Go figure. How in the hell is this unconstitutional? I don’t see anywhere in the Constitution where that guarantees anybody the right to partially deliver a child and then have its skull crushed. You want to not have a baby? Here’s what you do? Guys, keep it your pants for crying out loud. Women, keep your legs closed. It’s called responsibility. I also saw on a message board today that someone was saying that insurance companies should make birth control more affordable. No, they shouldn’t. I’m all for birth control but I’ve worked for enough health insurance companies to know that most health insurance policies only cover what is medically necessary. Birth control is not medically necessary. They also said that insurance companies will cover drugs for men like Viagra but not birth control. Also false. Again Viagra and the like are not medically necessary. Find me an insurance company that covers frivolous procedures and items and I’ll be the first to sign up. But I’m getting off topic. Partial birth abortions are barbaric at best. And the pro death people have a blatant disregard for the life of an unborn child as well as responsibility…

Abortion proponents, however, argued that a woman’s health during an abortion is more important than how the fetus is terminated, and that the banned method is often a safer solution that a conventional abortion, in which the fetus is dismembered in the womb and then removed in pieces.

How is either method better? It just boggles my mind how anyone male or female would want to have their unborn child either dismembered or executed. Just so you can avoid a little responsibility. Anybody that favors any form of abortion outside of the extreme exceptions of rape, incest, and endangerment to the mother is inhuman. I guess life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness doesn’t apply to those who are the most defenseless.

Scarzilla: The Final Chapter

C-Section Mom Gets Probation:

Melissa Ann Rowland, the woman who refused to have a Cesarean killing one of her unborn twins, was only given 18 months probation. Basically because she’s a nut job. Now to me that’s even more reason to keep her locked up. It seems that the Salt Lake City courts fawned all over her…

District Judge Dennis Fuchs called it a travesty that the system “can’t adequately deal with individuals like Miss Rowland.” He described her as someone who has repeatedly fallen through the cracks.

Fuchs denied a request by the prosecution that Rowland be barred from contacting the surviving twin, a girl who was adopted shortly after birth. The child was found with cocaine and alcohol in her system, and Rowland’s drug use while pregnant was the basis for the child endangerment charges.

So not only is this aberration of human existence escaping any jail time she’ll be allowed to visit the surviving twin that she poisoned with cocaine.

To make things even worse NOW, Planned Parenthood, and the ACLU rallied around her saying that the prosecutors attempt to charge her with murder was somehow a conspiracy against abortion rights. How credible is an organization that has this…

…as their martyr?

Remember kids kill all you want. You’re not responsible, someone else is. The sick thing is some people actually believe that.

Death March

Abortion-rights supporters rally in Washington:

What are they protesting? Unfortunately abortion is still legal. Oh hold on. Let me put up the disclaimer before everyone jumps all over my shit.

DISCLAIMER: Trench actually does believe in abortion for the extreme cases of rape, incest and endangerment to the mother.

Having said that I don’t believe it should be used as a form of birth control, a way of dealing with birth defects, or simply because a baby would be inconvenient. You know who used to kill deformed or handicapped children? I’ll give you a hint. They were in power in Germany during the late 1930′s and early 40′s. So what do they have their hairy pits in knots about? Mostly this…

Bush has signed a ban on what critics call partial-birth abortion, and the first federal law to endow a fetus with legal rights distinct from the pregnant woman.

What critics call partial birth abortions? What do proponents of it call it? Vaginal excavation? They’re delivering the baby out of the body until the head is out then crushing its skull. And the law giving a “fetus”, what I call an unborn child, distinct legal rights from the mother was designed unfortunately for murder cases like the Laci Peterson case. I guess Scott Peterson is going to be a martyr for NOW and NARAL. Sen. Hillary Carpetbagger Clinton had this to say…

“This administration is filled with people … who consider Roe v. Wade the worst abomination of constitutional law in our history,”

It is the worst abomination in constitutional law because it’s not in the constitution. Show me where it says all women have the right to kill their unborn child for whatever reason. It was a case of the Supreme Court making the law. Last time I checked that was congress’ job.

In closing spare me the wire hanger rhetoric. You made a choice to engage in an activity that may or may not make you pregnant. But as we all know no one is responsible for their own actions anymore. Yet millions of people who want to adopt have to go overseas because we’re killing all our children before they’re born.

Scarzilla Update

So our most recent mother of the year candidate has killed her newborn by refusing a caesarian, tried selling her stillborn son for bail money, now it turns out she has a previous conviction for child beating. Why did she beat one of her kids you ask?…

The 2000 conviction of Melissa Rowland stemmed from a supermarket incident in which she punched her daughter several times in the face after the toddler picked up a candy bar and began eating it, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported. Witnesses said Rowland screamed, “You ate the candy bar and now I can’t buy my cigarettes.”

Can it get any more white trash than that? Beats her kids over smokes. I bet they were discount menthols too. Just more reason to have this woman forcibly removed from society. But wait, it gets better. Several “womens” groups are coming to her defense saying she had the right to refuse the Caesarian. Sure, she had the right to willfully neglect the health and welfare of her unborn children. Just so she wouldn’t get a scar. Yeah, that makes perfect sense. But in today’s world of no personal responsibility I guess it does make sense to some misguided fools. Don’t feel like having a baby for whatever reason? Sure no problem. Just kill it or let it die. God forbid it should interfere with your personal life.

3/13/04: News from TheTrench

Caesarean refusal leads to murder charge:

Jeez that’s frickin’ scary. Anyway the assclown pictured above was told she needed to have a Caesarean section multiple times to save one of her twins but she refused because she didn’t want to have a scar. Guess what. One of the babies died. Now she’s being charged with murder. I say good. This assclown deserves everything she gets. She killed one of her unborn children all in the name of vanity. I mean look at her. A surgical scar is the least of her troubles. Of course a lot of the pro-death…I mean “pro-choice” people are saying she committed no crime. It was only “a fetus”. It’s her choice. It’s her body. Bullshit. It was her irresponsible action that cause one of her babies to be stillborn. It was because of her irresponsible action that a child is dead. It’s manslaughter at worst murder at the most. And what unlucky bastard actually mated with that mutant. Remember kids, Abortion: allowing parents to shirk their responsibilities for over 30 years.

U.S. Launches New Afghanistan Operation:

The US military has stepped up operations in Afghanistan in a renewed effort to find Bin Laden. The hypocrisy of the left is once again coming out in droves. The ridiculousness ranges from…”shouldn’t we have been doing this along”…to…”Oh so they can find him just in time for the election”. Some people are never happy. So what would you people rather we do? Just let him go? Give him a nice big government grant for showing us the error of our ways? Terrorists don’t care if you’re right-wing or left-wing. They hate you no matter what and want to see you dead. I’d rather see a president using military force to bring this jackass to justice than a president who believes this is a law enforcement issue. Then when he’s arrested Johnnie Cochran would get him off by saying that the system is racist. Give me a break.

Clark hates babies

Clark: Abortion decision is the mom’s alone :

I guess politicians think to be the biggest presidential frontrunner for the Democrats you have to be the biggest nutjob you can be. Now Wesley Clark is trying to Out-Dean Dean. In the article Wesley Clark said that he is in favor of abortions at any point during the pregnancy up until birth.

“Life,” he said, “begins with the mother’s decision.”

I don’t even have the words to properly describe my disgust. As a retired general that has served his country in military action you would think he would be tired of death but apparently he is not. Is this what he fought for in Bosnia? To keep democracy free so irresponsible people can use abortion as a form of birth control?

I really hope General Clark does not believe this and is just using this as a political ploy to try to be a bigger liberal than Dean. If he does actually believe what he spews then he’s just become another mindless zombie of the liberal left regurgitating their message of death. This from the so-called “progressive” party.
