Father turns in suspected child predator found on Craigslist:

So this guy in the Houston, Texas area was shopping for a tire cover for his Jeep online. He found exactly what he was looking for on craigslist. He contacted the seller and then after the arrangements for the tire cover were made the seller allegedly started asking some typical questions. And by typical I mean typical for craigslist.

The seller started asking the man if he had kids and would they be interested in ‘modeling’ for him. The man says that the seller offered him $5 for clothed photos of his kids and $10 for nudes. After their conversation the man called the local police and the FBI.

This led authorities to one 22-year-old Spencer House. When police searched his home they found child porn on his computer and children’s’ underwear in his closet. Police say that House may have also solicited other parents since he was advertising on craigslist as a child modeling studio.

This is why you shouldn’t do any sort of business on craigslist at least until they promise to clean up their site. No matter how legitimate the item may be that you’re searching for you have a pretty good chance of running into one of these creepers.

I don’t know how I missed this story before but here we are.

35-year-old Eric G. Lowe of Sacramento, California was recently sentenced for soliciting sex from an underage girl on craigslist. Lowe posted an ad on craigslist seeking a young girl for a “Daddy/Daughter incest relationship”. Yep, I like I need a chemical shower after typing that. A 13-year-old girl named Amy responded to Lowe’s ad and began corresponding with him. He would ask Amy things like when was her mother going to be out of the house and can she bring a friend. Amy was actually an undercover police detective. After investigators searched Lowe’s computer they found that he was conversing with an actual teen from another town and was in possession of child porn. Lowe told investigators that he preferred 9-year-olds and admitted that he molested an underage girl. Ok, now I’m going to have to take a chemical shower and scrub with steel wool. Ick.

So what did this sick bitch get for all his troubles. 10 years in jail, 10 years on probation and a place on the sex offender registry. Not enough prison time. When he gets out, in probably less than 10 years since it’s California, probation and the registry is not going to be nearly enough to discourage an obvious predator like Lowe.

Also Lowe’s ad was allowed to sit on craigslist for months and nothing was ever done about it. Craigslist seems to have no problem with pedophiles using their site to find victims and the media refuses to call them out on it. A tragic cycle of apathy while children are being molested.

University freshman faces child pornography charges after Craigslist sting:

18-year-old Akshay Rajshekar was already facing child porn charges when he was arrested in Washington, DC for allegedly transporting child porn across state lines. He allegedly responded to an ad on craigslist posted by the FBI and the Metropolitan Police’s Child Exploitation Task Force. The FBI posed as a father that was turning out his 12-year-old daughter. Rajshekar is said to have responded to the ad and sent the ‘father’ several images of child porn. In one of the chats Rajshekar said…

“I really want to experience what it is like,” Rajshekar allegedly wrote in a chat obtained by investigators. “I have been trying to meet other pedos online with similar interest … [it’s] hard as hell.”

When Rajshekar went to the pre-arranged meeting in our nation’s capital Rajshekar was arrested and was said to be in possession of condoms and a laptop. He’s been charged with transporting child porn across state lines and travelling for the sexual exploitation of a minor and is looking at 40 years.

As I’ve said many times before if the police are posing as scum like fathers willing to turn out their kids than that means that there is scum who actually do that on craigslist. Still craigslist refuses to monitor their own site for creeps like this. Why anybody uses craigslist for any legitimate means is beyond me because the more people who continue to use craigslist the more craigslist turns a blind eye to the still high level of criminal activity on their site.

Man wanted for rape after posting ad on Craigslist:

Authorities are on the look out for 37-year-old Edward Tarras Jr. of Smyrna, Tennessee. He’s accused of posting an ad for models in the ‘talent gigs’ section of craigslist and then raping at least one of the women that responded to his ad.

Police say that the ad posted by Tarras said he was looking for models between the age of 15 and 24. One woman who responded to his ad went to his home and Tarras took measurements and then she left. She went back when Tarras requested additional measurements had her undress and that’s when police say he raped her. Unfortunately when police contacted Tarras they did not have enough evidence to arrest him and he took off. He is believed to have hopped on a bus to Tampa, Florida. Police believe he may have more victims including minors who may be afraid to come forward because of their parents.

I’ve been blogging about the modeling scam since MySpace’s heyday. It’s a favorite go to scam that predators like to use to get their victims especially underage ones. They prey upon their vanity and convince them that a life of glamour and fortune lay ahead. Sometimes the victims are physically and sexually assaulted while other times they end up being prostituted. As always parents you should educate your kids and yourselves when it comes to this scam. Not every person is cut out for modeling and not every modeling agent in the internet is one. In this case Tarras is actually a waiter at a local pancake place. Hardly William Morris.

Smyrna police want any one who had interactions with Tarras or know of his whereabouts to contact Detective Allan Nabours at 615-267-5434.

UPDATE 4/3/2013: Tarras has been apprehended. He’s also been charged with possession of child porn and is being held on $1.5 million bond.

If you haven’t heard of Snapchat yet it’s an app that’s available for both iOS and Android devices. That means it’s available for iPods, iPhones and iPads along with Android phones and tablets. It allows the user to take a picture or video send it to a friend but the picture or video deletes itself after a few seconds. Basically what it’s intended for, even though Snapchat may say otherwise, is for the user to be able to send explicit photos to someone without the recipient being able to save them.

Snapchat either underestimated their user base or didn’t care because the pictures actually can be saved. In one New Jersey high school two underage girls shared pictures with each other that later ended up on the photo sharing app Instagram. According to Snapchat’s terms of use users can be as young as 13. While Snapchat does provide tips for parents they even admit that they do not review the photos being sent and that they can not and will not send parents copies of the messages that their kids are sending or receiving. Once again parents you are the only line of defense between your kids and online predators. Not only that but a lot of times you also have to be the conscience for your kids as well.

A couple of weeks ago I posted a story about a woman from Tempe, Arizona whose teenage daughter was solicited on craigslist after posting an ad for babysitting. She took her story to the local media after police did not arrest the suspect because of lack of evidence. That suspect has since been arrested.

22-year-old Joshua Vehmeier of Mesa was arrested two days after the story was aired. He’s been charged with sending the 16-year-old girl explicit photos of himself and soliciting her for sex. Police say they also found him in possession of child porn so I can almost guarantee that this wasn’t his first time fishing for victims on craigslist, only the first time he got caught.

Again I say to the parents on there craigslist is no place for an underage child no matter what the circumstance is. If your child wants to earn baby sitting money that’s great. Just don’t advertise their services on craigslist or anywhere else on the internet for that matter. Advertise at places like your local church, community center. or word of mouth to your friends. That doesn’t guarantee that your child may be not be placed in harm’s way but they’ll be a lot safer than with some random stranger from craigslist.

Cops say man lured teen for sex using vampire website:

30-year-old Nelson Carrizo of the Miami-Dade area pleaded guilty to 10 counts of child porn back in October. A court-ordered shrink said that Carrizo was of no danger to society. Carrizo was sentenced to 50 years but through his plea deal he was only going to serve 3 years in prison with 10 years probation. Also he was allowed out on bond so he could enjoy the holidays before going to prison. He surrendered himself to authorities on January 9th of this year.

While out on bond enjoying the holidays police say that Carrizo ‘had sex’ with a 16-year-old girl that he had met in the goth social network VampireFreaks. The article does it better justice than I can about how screwed up this is.

Days earlier, according to a search warrant filed in Miami-Dade circuit court, Palm Beach County deputies found a 16-year-old girl in a local gym trying to slash her wrists with her own fingernails.

Deputies committed the girl to a hospital for a psychological evaluation. Investigators soon learned that her parents had found explicit text messages and photos on her phone.

The teen revealed that she had first met Carrizo on VampireFreaks in June 2012 — two years after the man had been arrested for child porn. They knew each other’s true age, the girl told detectives.

Over the months, Carrizo “asked her several times if she was a cop and if this was a setup,” the warrant said. She sent him nude photos to prove she was not.

Then in December — two months after he had pleaded guilty — Carrizo began urging her to come to Miami for sex.

And I kid you not, the 30-year-old Carrizo is said to have lived with his mother and allegedly had the girl sneak in while his mom was asleep. A lot of these online creepers always seem to have a Norman Bates vibe around them. Not to mention that anyone that’s 30-years-old on VF is suspect to me anyway.

Seriously though this guy obviously he knew what he was doing was wrong since he kept asking if this was a setup. Too bad the court ordered shrink assessment was completely wrong. Scum like this should not be afforded any special luxuries like being able to turn themselves in at a later date. It’s not like returning a library book (ask your parents what that means). Once a pedo always a pedo and they should be treated as such.

Swiss Miss up there is 22-year-old Desiree Lee Padilla of Harlingen, Texas. She was recently arrested for allegedly sending explicit pictures of an infant girl to a registered sex offender that she met on MocoSpace. Again with Texas and MocoSpace. I have to wonder once again if it’s just being reported more in Texas than any other area.

Anyway, the sex offender in question is 41-year-old James Leland Copeland Jr. who was convicted on child porn charges in Tennessee in 2005. He’s been in and out of prison since. He’s been arrested as well in this case.

Investigators say that Padilla sent pictures of her performing a sex act on an infant girl at Copeland’s request. The articles come out have not said if the girl was Padilla’s daughter.

Unfortunately this is not the uncommon occurrence you may think it is. Over at Bad Breeders there have been a multitude of stories of women who have sent their insignificant others child porn usually involving their own children. I don’t care if the guy was a multi-billionaire who was going to set you up for life on a private island. There is no man or woman out there that’s worth violating a baby for.

Do we as a society think so little of our children anymore?

Just when I ask why don’t we hear about more Facebook predators one comes slinking out of the woodwork.

Police in Irvine, California have arrested 30-year-old Zachary Reeder of Orange, California. Reeder was a teacher at an Anaheim high school at the time of his arrest. He’s been charged with posing as a young girl on Facebook in order to get underage boys to send him explicit photos of themselves.

This ploy has been around since at least the days of MySpace and probably is as old as the public internet itself. Parents, you really need to have a talk with your boys about this to let them know that in reality most girls their age are not looking for nude pictures of them. If you don’t want to have that talk with them let me give you a little encouragement. Child porn purveyors are usually more than happy to share their cache of child porn with other pedos so God only knows in what other hands pictures of your kids could end up in.

To make matters worse since Reeder’s arrest earlier this month 70 more alleged victims of Reeder have come forward.

Anyone who may have been victimized by the suspect or with information regarding the case was urged to call Irvine police at (949) 724-7184.

Wow, it’s just a veritable cornucopia of craigslist creepers today isn’t it?

This particular creeper is 22-year-old Joseph Alan Geissinger, of Muskegon, Michigan. He was arrested by his local police department for allegedly trying to solicit a 16-year-old girl through craigslist to star in a porno that he was producing. The girl had posted an ad on craigslist offering her services as a baby sitter.

Police say that Geissinger just straight up asked her if she wanted to be in his ‘movie’. Luckily the girl told her mother who first posed as the girl then eventually contacted police. Police do not believe he’s actually made any videos but believe he may have contacted other girls.

Anyone who believes they have been contacted by Geissinger under that screen name is asked to contact the Muskegon Police Department at (231) 724-6750 or Silent Observer 72-CRIME; or Muskegon Police Detective Kory Luker, who is actively working the case, at (231) 724-6755.

He’s looking at 20 years.

Now the girl and the mom did the right thing by contacting police however under no circumstance should you allow your son or daughter to post an ad on craigslist for baby sitting. This isn’t the first time that some predator approached someone through a non-sexual ad. The one story that always sticks out in my mind is the one about the handyman who was approached by someone who wanted to have sex with his kids. These are the kind of dregs that permeate craigslist. Why people still consider to business on it is beyond me.
