California TSA agent charged with being a craigslist creeper

George Hristovski

George Hristovski

54-year-old George Hristovski of Elverta, California, used to be an agent for the TSA. I say used to because he was recently arrested by the FBI for allegedly looking for mother-daughter sex on craigslist.

Investigators say that Hristovski placed an ad on the casual encounters section of craigslist looking to have sex with a mother and underage daughter. He received a response to his ad from a 30-year-wold woman with a 13-year-old daughter who said she was willing to entertain his sick requests. Reports say that e-mails sent from Hristovski to the mother were quite graphic and explicit. Of course the mother was actually an investigator for the Placer County Sheriff’s Department who traced his IP address to a Homeland Security owned computer. Homeland Security oversees the TSA and the TSA has terminated Hristovski’s employment. The FBI said that at the time of his arrest at his home Hristovski tried claiming that it was just a fantasy. Right, and if he showed up at a meeting point he probably would have been there to just ‘hang out’.

Just another sexual predator on craigslist who possibly could have used his government connections to do God only knows what to his victims. Yet craigslist gets yet another pass. Heaven forfend they should actually do any kind of moderation of their own site.

Grisly double craigslist murder in Michigan

Brady Oestrike

Brady Oestrike

While I was off taking some downtime from the world of crime one of the most horrific craigslist related crimes happened in western Michigan. To be honest I’m having a hard time trying to come up with one that was more violent and cruel.

31-year-old Brady Oestrike of Wyoming, Michigan is believed to have killed 18-year-old Brooke Slocum and her boyfriend 25-year-old Charles Oppenneer. From what I can gather from the media reports Brooke Slocum was in contact with Oestrike through craigslist trying to set up some kind of sex for housing deal on the urging of Oppenneer. It’s unclear exactly what happened next but after the trio had met up Oppenneer’s headless body was found in a nearby park.

An investigation of Brooke’s Slocum’s computer led authorities to Oestrike. When they tried to arrest Oestrike during a high risk traffic stop he fled and shortly afterwards crashed his car. Oestrike took his own life by shooting himself before police could apprehend him. When police opened the trunk they found the body of Brooke Slocum who had been strangled to death. She was also 8 months pregnant at the time of her murder. As of yet Charles Oppenneer’s head has still not been located. Investigators are looking into whether or not Oestrike was connected to any other murders but are saying that nothing is concrete at this point. I am only scratching the surface with my description of this most disturbing crime. Please read the news links that I’ve provided below.

Brooke Slocum’s family have set up a GoFundMe in order to help pay for her and her unborn child Audi’s funeral expenses if you’d like to donate.

Now I hate to speak ill of the dead and especially a victim of such a violent crime but I have to wonder if maybe Brook was being turned out on craigslist by her boyfriend. Brooke’s own father even said that her relationship with Oppenneer was not healthy

“I know that love is not manipulation; love is unconditional and that wasn’t the case,” Slocum said. “My daughter deserved better than that.”

I’ve posted more than one story on this site concerning craigslist where boyfriends or husbands have manipulated their significant others into prostitution or pimps have caused women and girls to believe they were their boyfriends while the pimps were just using them as their prostitutes. I’m not saying I’m 100% certain that this is what happened but it is definitely one avenue to explore.

Lastly, once again I find myself trying to warn people to the dangers of craigslist especially when it comes to the seedier parts of the site like the personals and the casual encounters section. Horrible and vicious people like Oestrike are out there waiting for an opportunity to find a victim that craigslist basically brings to their door. I urge you to not be that victim.

Thanks to Soobs for the tip.

Vegas man posed as child fashion photographer on craigslist

oldtimeycamera

Personally I think people who push their kids into modeling are mentally deficient. Too many people see it as a get rich quick scheme without realizing how many people out there want to take advantage of their children. I’ve posted too many stories about child predators and human traffickers who used the allure of modeling to get close to their victims. However if you’re going to push your kid in that direction don’t post ads on craigslist looking for work for your kid.

One such woman from Bakersfield, California placed such an ad and police say it was responded to 43-yer-old Charles Max Pollock of Las Vegas. That’s over a four-hour trip and almost 300 miles in case you were wondering. Pollock allegedly said that he was a photographer, rented a motel room and took explicit photos of the child. No word on the age of the child but he’s at least of computer using age since the article states that Pollock continued communication with the child. Since Pollock crossed state lines he’s looking at 30 years in federal prison.

Craigslist is the cesspool of the internet. If you post just about any ad in regards to an underage child you more than likely to get a response from a child predator than a talent agent.

There was a crooked craigslist creeper

Jeff Beckman

Jeff Beckman

I can’t do every craigslist creeper story anymore because there are just too many of them. Every once in a while though, it only takes a mugshot to make me stop and post one of those stories. For example take 51-year-old Jeff Beckman of Rosholt, Wisconsin. Have you ever heard the expression ‘don’t get your nose bent out of shape’? It looks like he did.

Anyway, Beckman has recently pleaded not guilty to child solicitation and child porn charges. Police in nearby Marathon County say that Beckman allegedly responded to a craigslist ad they placed posing as someone peddling children. They say that Beckman was willing to pay $60 to have sex with three children, ages 12, 14, and 15. Police later found child porn while searching his home.

Yet as a society we’re still apathetic towards getting craigslist to monitor their own yard. I wonder if the ad the police placed was even flagged by anyone on their local craigslist. Somehow I doubt that it was.

Arrest made in year old Connecticut Craigslist Killing

Rashad Moon

Rashad Moon

I originally posted about the murder of Felix DeJesus here. The 39-year-old father of two was gunned down in 2013 while still in his car in Hartford, Connecticut. He was selling a tablet computer and went to meet the seller since the seller said they didn’t own a car. A year passed without an arrest being made although police had a person of interest.

That person of interest may now be a suspect as Hartford police have arrested 22-year-old Rashad Moon and charged him with DeJesus’ murder.

While a lot of transactions take place through craigslist with no incident in my opinion there’s enough that end in tragedy that cause me not to use Craigslist. To me it seems like a game of Russian Roulette anytime someone uses craigslist for no matter what purpose. Eventually someone is going to get the bullet.

UPDATE 6/30/2014: Hartford police have arrested a 2nd suspect in 20-year-old Marvin Mathis. It’s unclear at present what Mathis’ alleged role was in the murder of Felix DeJesus.

Philly area man charged with craigslist rape and human trafficking

Kevin Cornish

Kevin Cornish

If the alleged charged against Kevin Cornish are true the man is not only a dangerous predator but he’s a world-class scumbag too.

The 42-year-old man from Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania, has been not only charged in the alleged craigslist rape of an 18-year-old victim but he may be behind a massive human trafficking scheme as well.

Police say that Cornish posted an ad on craigslist advertising for a home health care aide job. Cornish is said to have rapes the victim at his home after a fake interview and telling her he had the job. He is also said to have made her fill out and sign an additional ‘application’ for her to work for him as a prostitute. In my opinion it sounds like he was trying to convince her that she was legally his property now. I have heard of this trick being used before by traffickers.

After the victim escaped and contacted police they found fifty more of these applications which means he could possibly have other rape victims as well.

When dealing with any ad on craigslist Upper Darby Police Superintendent Mike Chitwood said it best.

“There are a lot of sickos out there. You really have to be careful.”

My advice, don’t use craigslist at all for anything.

Austin craigslist creeper offered free room and board to teen for “adult video work”

Joshua Rube

Joshua Rube

Due to all the breaking stories lately I’ve had to put the craigslist creepers and other predators on the back burner so I’m going to try to get these stories out as quick as possible today.

Anyway, 31-year-old Joshua Rube of Austin, Texas, has been charged with allegedly sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl that he met through craigslist. Police say that Rube placed an ad promising free room and board for someone who’d be willing to do “adult video work.”

A 16-year-old girl responded to the ad and is even said to have told Rube her real age. Sadly this was not an undercover detective but an actual girl who Rube allegedly had sexual contact with. The girl’s mother discovered the e-mails between Rube and the victim.

Since when is 16-years-old considered ‘adult’? This also shows that kids are on craigslist despite what the creeper defenders say.

Guy who tried to have his wife raped through craigslist is sentenced

TF Man Sentenced in Craigslist Rape Case:

Twin Falls man sentenced for solicitation of rape:

Justin Crawford

Justin Crawford

In 2012 Justin Crawford of Twin Falls, Idaho, posted ads on craigslist posing as his wife advertising that she had a rape fantasy. Two men on separate occasions tried to rape her. One was able to wrest her gun away from her before leaving while the other was held at gunpoint by the victim until police arrived. Thankfully neither were able to rape her.

Crawford was recently sentenced for solicitation of rape and it wasn’t much of a sentence. He could spend 10 years in prison if the judge deems it necessary after he completes psychological treatment by the State of Idaho. So in theory after the program he could walk off a free man.

Crawford claims that this was all an elaborate suicide plot caused by his PTSD from serving in the National Guard overseas. He says he thought his wife would care less about him and would make it easier for him to commit suicide. Personally I think it’s a load of crap. He wouldn’t be the first guy to get his jollies from seeing his wife raped by a stranger from craigslist. I think he’s using PTSD as an excuse but hey, I’m not a judge. If I was he’s be going away for a long time.

To me he’s just another prototypical example of the kind of scum that infest craigslist while craigslist refuses to do anything about it. What makes it worse is the people who turn a blind eye to these crimes and still support craigslist like it’s some kind of community outreach program. It’s not, it’s still dirty and still in need of cleaning up.

Florida craigslist creeper only wanted to have sex with kids if it was cool with their dad

FBI: Man traveled to have sex with two girls:

Edward Vadney

Edward Vadney

The article I linked to is really short but how could I pass on that mugshot? Yeesh.

Anyway, 23-year-old Edward Vadney of Winter Haven, Florida, was arrested in Seminole County, Florida, after allegedly posting an ad on craigslist. The ad seemed to indicate that Vadney wanted to have sex with young children. Responding to the ad was a father of two, a 6-year-old and a 10-year-old. Vadney allegedly responded that he would only have sex with the children if it was ‘cool’ with their father.

Of course since you’re reading this here and it did take place in Florida the father turned out to be an FBI agent and Vadney was arrested.

No word on if he also planned on stealing the children’s souls.

Still, no one cares except me apparently that craigslist doesn’t monitor their own site for cretins like this even though they probably inhabit every section of the site.

Still no arrest in Connecticut craigslist killing

Family frustrated after no arrests in Craigslist murder:

Murder victim Felix DeJesus

Murder victim Felix DeJesus

How sad is it that a craigslist murder took place and it escaped my attention. I probably got it mixed up with one of the other several dozen. What’s even more sad that in that time no one has been brought to justice for the death of Felix DeJesus.

Felix DeJesus, of Hartford, Connecticut, was engaged to be married and a father of two young children. Her was selling two tablet computers on craigslist. Normally he would meet the buyers in public but this buyer said that he didn’t have a car so Felix felt sorry for him according to his fiance and the mother of his children. Sounds like a genuinely nice guy. Unfortunately someone took advantage of Felix’s big heart.

Felix was shot and killed while still sitting in his car. Hartford police have a person of interest but no arrest has been made in the year since Felix’s murder. Hopefully it’s just a case of the police dotting their I’s and crossing their T’s. I hope that Felix’s killer is brought to justice soon.

If you’re selling something on craigslist I would advise you not to. If you decide to anyway I would recommend meeting the buyer at the local police station. That should weed out a lot of potential threats.
