Sex offender stole wi-fi to try to contact victim

Sex offender jailed over online chat attempt with his victim:

Shawn Piercefield

Shawn Piercefield

This may be a worst case scenario but this is why you don’t leave your wi-fi unprotected.

26-year-old Shawn Piercefield of Indianapolis is a registered sex offender. He’s on probation for felony charges of soliciting a child for sex. As part of his probation he’s not supposed to be on the internet. Then again how many RSOs actually follow their probation guidelines?

During a routine check of his house officers found a cell phone that Piercefield was allegedly using in order to try to contact his victim over the mobile messaging app Kik. With Kik you need an internet connection, either you cell phone’s data connection or wi-fi. Piercefield was said to be using his neighbors wi-fi to try to get to his victim.

By the way that’s a probation violation and back to jail he goes. Maybe if they kept creepers like this in jail in the first place instead of giving them suspended sentences we wouldn’t have as many of these incidents.

Not the craigslist killing you’re looking for, Indiana Guardsmen killed during robbery

Friends: National Guard vet, 32, fatally shot trying to buy iPad off Craigslist:

Lizton Guardsman slain buying iPad, police say:

Tryon and Tyshaune Kincade

Tryon and Tyshaune Kincade

Yes, I know. You want to read about the craigslist thrill kill that recently took place in Pennsylvania. Don’t worry, I’ll get to that. However there are other craigslist killings that haven’t made the national news that are just as equally disheartening and disturbing.

This past week 32-year-old James Vester of Lizton, Indiana, was shot and killed when trying to purchase what he believed to be an iPad through craigslist. Instead he was allegedly shot and killed by Indianapolis brothers Tryon Kincade, 19, and Tyshaune Kincade, 18. Robbery is said to be the motive.

Vester was no rube. He was an Indiana Guardsman who had toured Iraq and probably knew how to take care of himself. He even went to meet the ‘sellers’ in the light of day. Unfortunately even the best soldiers aren’t bulletproof. Tragically he leaves behind a wife and a 1-year-old son. All because two scumbag brothers were too lazy to make an honest living. Yet a man who probably just wanted to get someone a nice Christmas present for his family is now dead over probably just a few hundred bucks.

It doesn’t matter who you are, what you know, or how innocent your intentions are. If you do any kind of business on craigslist you are taking your life in your hands.

UPDATE 12/12/2013: Police believe that the Kincades are involved in several other craigslist robberies.

Also the brothers have pleaded not guilty.

The widow of James Vester released a statement in which she said…

I am so happy his story has went viral worldwide so maybe people will think twice about trying to run a scam/robbery/murder through Craigslist or any other site. I want to focus on all of the good Jim brought to this world and not focus on the people who did this to him.

My apologies Mrs. Vester. While I’m sure your husband was a good man the world occasionally needs to be reminded that evil lurks within it.

December craigslist murder in Indy over an iPhone

Dominique Clanton

Dominique Clanton

Dominique Clanton, 18, charged with murder, robbery in iPhone Craigslist killing:

Second arrest made in Craigslist, iPhone murder case:

On December 17th 31-year-old Nishant Patel of Indianapolis was shot and killed after trying to sell his iPhone on craigslist. Police say that Bryant “BeDo” Dowdy was the triggerman and that 18-year-old Dominique Clanton has also been charged with Mr. Patel’s murder.

Apparently there is no honor among thieves because police say that Dowdy not only shot and killed Patel but shot both Dominique Clanton and Eric Clanton in order to eliminate all the witnesses. Eric Clanton did not survive his injuries.

Two people dead over a trendy piece of plastic. Such a waste. However it does show once again just how dangerous doing any kind of business on craigslist still is. It’s not the online hippy commune of peace, love and sharing that it once was. It’s now an online directory of potential victims.

MeetMe perv crosses state lines to rape a 14-year-old girl

Man is accused of crossing state line for sex with teen:

Man accused of taking Hammond girl to Illinois for sex:

Carey Ray, aka Carey West, aka Carey Tyrone-West, (age unknown but we’ll get to that) has been arrested for allegedly taking a 14-year-old special education girl to Illinois for ‘sex’. (We’ll get to that too.)

Ray allegedly met the girl on MeetMe and the pair exchanged hundreds of texts. The girl’s mom finally discovered one of the texts and forbade her from meeting Ray. The girl sent a text back to Ray saying she couldn’t see him because “You know everything. I am 14.”

Apparently that wasn’t enough to stop ray because 3 days later he picked the girl up and took her to a motel in Illinois. Here’s what happened according to one of the articles…

Ray then gave her marijuana and alcohol. After about an hour, he started to undress her. When she objected, he told her he had paid for the room and wanted to use it. He then held her down and had sex with her without a condom, despite the girl trying to fight him off, the affidavit claims.

Held her down and ‘had sex’ huh? After she said no? Last time I checked that meets the definition of rape not ‘had sex’. Neither article mentions the word rape. When as a society we keep referring to rape, or in this case child rape, as having sex it makes the act of rape seem more acceptable by our culture. Words matter.

Also it doesn’t matter what his age is. From 18 to 80 it’s illegal to have sex with a 14-year-old girl. If he’s 16 or 17 he raped a girl, allegedly, which is still against the law. And for those people who say “Well she went with the guy to a motel what did she think would happen?”, first you’re an idiot, secondly the girl is mentally challenged by all accounts, third the girl supposedly said no, if it doesn’t end there it’s rape, lastly you’re an idiot.

23-year-old woman charged with being a MySpace rapist

Jessica M. Thompson

Woman, 23, arrested after ‘seducing teenager on MySpace and getting pregnant with his baby’:

Richmond woman arrested on sex-crime charge:

So the Daily Mail calls it ‘seducing’ and the local paper calls it a ‘sex-crime’. Again I have to point out that they should call it what it really is, rape. When did the term rape become so politically incorrect to use in a headline and for the Daily Mail no less?

Anyway 23-year-old Jessica M. Thompson of Richmond, Indiana was recently arrested after it was determined that she was allegedly knocked up by a 15-year-old boy that she met through MySpace. The pair met a year ago when Thompson was 22. Even a year ago who the hell was using MySpace? But I digress.

The boy initially told her that he was 18 but eventually Thompson learned the truth but continued to allegedly rape the boy.

The even sadder part is that she’ll probably only get 90 days in county while the boy gets a thumbs up and a pat on the back. If the gender roles were reversed we’d be calling for the suspect’s head on a pike and advising a life time of counselling for the girl.

Indiana has Dumbfish law upheld

Give me that fish!

Judge upholds Indiana Facebook ban for sex offenders:

I didn’t know that Indiana even had a Dumbfish law on the books yet here we are.

Anyway a federal judge upheld Indiana’s law that bans registered sex offenders from Facebook and other social networking sites regardless if they’ve completed their probation or not.

“Social networking, chat rooms, and instant messaging programs have effectively created a ‘virtual playground’ for sexual predators to lurk,” Judge Tanya Walton Pratt wrote in the ruling, citing a 2006 report by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that found that one in seven youths had received online sexual solicitations and one in three had been exposed to unwanted sexual material online.

Of course those great defenders of pedophiles known as the ACLU have a problem with this. They plan on appealing the decision naturally. God forbid we should have an internet free of child molesters and rapists.

Again I say though these laws banning sex offenders from social networking are really just feel good legislation designed to garner votes for politicians. Only the dumbest of predators get caught by these laws, as I keep saying, like the dumb fish that jump into the boat.

In reality legislation isn’t needed. Most social sites already ban registered sex offenders from their site but no TOS or law will keep online predators from trying to approach your kids. What we need instead is more tech savvy parents who know how to check on their kids’ internet activity when it be through computer, tablet or phone. Unfortunately more and more parents just let their kids run off on their own on the internet and hope for the best. Politicians don’t want to tell their constituents to be better parents. That wouldn’t get them re-elected.

Accused child molester says he trolled craigslist for victims

Nicholas Blinn

Police: Man Trolled Craigslist For Sex With Boys:

Recently 25-year-old Nicholas Blinn of Danville, Indiana was arrested for allegedly molesting a 15-year-old boy in 2008. It turns out that he may have many more victims.

According to police Blinn said that he often scours craigslist in search of sex with boys. He may have molested boys in four Indiana counties. But that’s only the tip of the iceberg in this story.

Blinn also said that he would often meet people for sex off of craigslist and that some of them turned out to be ‘too young’ for him.

Do you see this craigslist? This is your clientele. Besides child molesters they’re pimps, thieves, killers and con men. Yet you still refuse to do any kind of moderation in the personals or casual encounters sections.

How many more children have to be violated before you do anything about this?

How does the saying go? All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. Or for greedy men to turn a blind eye to what they know is wrong.

Fort Wayne prostitution arrest shows typical pimp behavior

Prostitution arrest after ad:

Police in Fort Wayne, Indiana arrested Antwone K. Davis Sr. on prostitution charges after investigating an ad on their local section of backpage.com. They allege that Davis was basically the woman’s pimp and some quotes in the article show that he was displaying typical pimp behavior…

A woman in the car told police she and Davis had been dating for six months and that he had come to her two months ago about “making money” through online prostitution. The woman told police Davis posted the ads, but she also told them she posted the ads, court documents said.

Davis told police his girlfriend would give him the money she received from clients, and they would share it, but later he told police she would keep the money and buy what they needed, court records said.

It sounds like to me that the woman was trying to cover up for Davis in fear of what Davis could to her. Also the fact that Davis would keep all the money shows that this woman was probably nothing more than a sexual slave for Davis with no freedom of her own.

Like I keep saying if the government really wanted to do something serious about prostitution and human trafficking then they would send these pimps to prison for some seriously long sentences.

Guy searches for young girl on craigslist gets arrested for child porn instead

Jonathon Martin

Craigslist child pornographer arrested:

The Indiana State Police say that 28-year-old Jonathon Martin of Vincennes, Indiana posted an ad on craigslist seeking young girls for sex. I’m assuming they mean underage girls.

The reason I say that is because when they investigated Martin they allegedly found 20,000 images of child porn on his computer.

One could safely assume that the ad Martin is accused of posting would have been posted on the casual encounters section of craigslist and once again the community policing failed. Again it’s because the troglodytes that infest the casual encounters section are not exactly the law abiding type and could really care less if an underage girl gets raped by one of their scummy brethren.

Tot touching tutor convicted

Brett J. Zagorac

Craigslist ad tutor found guilty of misdemeanor battery:

I originally posted about Brett J. Zagorac here and here. He’s the tutor from Munster, Indiana who was advertising his services on craigslist under a fake name because he had previously been in trouble for allegedly touching students inappropriately. He was arrested for allegedly fondling a boy he was tutoring. Then he was ordered to stay way from any children and was caught tutoring another girl from Evanston, Illinois.

For the boy he was tutoring in Portage, Indiana he was convicted of the lesser charge of battery and not child molestation. That carries a max sentence of 180 days. He was released for time served. However he is still facing charges in Evanston, Illinois for the girl he tutored there.

If this guy loves teaching as much as he supposedly does is it so hard not to touch any of the children? In my opinion he’s been lucky so far. If he keeps it up he’s going to end up on the business side of the wrong parent who catches him touching his child.
