Craigslist ‘robberies by appointment’ turn violent:
I wanted to thank Bob Sullivan of The Red Tape Chronicles on MSNBC.com for featuring the site briefly in his article about craigslist robberies that turn violent. We had a brief e-mail exchange in which Mr. Sullivan asked me why I thought craigslist robberies were on the rise. My response to him was that they’ve actually remained constant over the years…
Reynolds said robberies that originate with a Craigslist contact have remained fairly constant during the past several years, but are only now attracting media attention.
“They don’t always result in someone getting shot in the face like in Ohio, but they are fairly frequent,” he said.
The thing is with my new day job and schedule I can’t focus on every craigslist robbery that happens. That would be a herculean task that would require several bloggers at this site. However now with Mr. Sullivan’s unintentional prodding I have opened a sister site to CCL called CraigsCrimeList Extra. It’s a Tumblr site where I’ve been posting links to the stories that I don’t have the time to get too. Those stories are also being posted on the CCL Facebook Page as well. You can also subscribe to the CCL Twitter feed as well to get all the CCL goodness you can handle.
And again I want to thank Mr. Sullivan for bringing more readers to the site and have hopefully educated some people on what’s really going on at sites like Craigslist and Backpage.
And if you want to see why I tout Geebo.com as my classifieds site of choice I can show you no better reason than Geebo’s Commitment to Social Responsibility.
