Oregon man faces rape charge in Idaho:

First I’d like to commend KTVB in Idaho for actually using the word rape in their story. Too many media outlets are replacing the word rape with terms like ‘had sex’. It’s good to see at least one media outlet telling it like it is.

Anyway police in Oregon have arrested 20-year-old Nicholas Longo of Brookings, Oregon on charges that he allegedly raped a 16-year-old girl from Boise that he met on social network site MeetMe.

Police say that Longo lived in Idaho at the time of the rape in March and invited the girl to a party after meeting her on MeetMe. The victim says that Longo raped her at the party while Longo says that the sex was consensual. Never mind the fact that under Idaho law no one under the age of 18 can legally consent to sex. So consensual or not it’s still rape under the eyes of the law.

Police also say that Longo moved to Oregon shortly after the rape took place. That’s not suspicious at all.

Now cue all his loser friends and pedo-defenders who will more than likely blame the victims.

My advice to parents is keep your kids off of MeetMe, formerly known as MyYearbook. I hate to use an old joke but it really should be called MeatMe because it really is nothing more than a hook up site.

After being on the run for a week police in Gwinnett County, Georgia arrested 23-year-old Joseph Tyler Sivonda on rape charges. Police believe that Sivonda would order a prostitute off of Backpage and when they showed up to his apartment complex he would force them into a vacated apartment at gunpoint and rape them. Five victims have come forward but police say there may be more. However for someone who police believe is a serial rapist he’s only being held on $2400 bond. He should be held on at least a six figure bond. Anybody could post the bond that he got and he could be out at anytime looking for more victims.

Also this is yet another problem that Backpage has a hand in yet doesn’t do anything about as long as the money keeps coming in. They don’t care how many women and girls are raped, trafficked or killed.

This story is a month old so I apologize for not bringing it to you sooner however I just received it myself.

Anyway, 40-year-old Silvio Raul Illescas was arrested early in March for allegedly raping three escorts that he found off of Backpage in Westchester County, New York. He is accused of taping two of the women in Greenburgh and one in Tarrytown. Police say that he raped at least one of the women at knifepoint cutting her. She sustained minor injuries as far as the knife goes. Investigators are also said to be looking at Illescas in other possible rapes as well.

I think that a lot of these scumbags pick prostitutes as their target not only because of the ease of access to them online but also they think that not only will they not report it but if they do that police won’t believe them. Thankfully it seems today that police do care. There was a time that this was not the case.

You know who doesn’t care? Backpage of course. They still go on waving the First Amendment in everybody’s face while women are being raped and killed through their website. Meanwhile they’re taking their blood money all the way to the bank without fear of any kind of legal reprisal. It’s sad that this is the world we live in and very few people seem to actually care about it.

Man wanted for rape after posting ad on Craigslist:

Authorities are on the look out for 37-year-old Edward Tarras Jr. of Smyrna, Tennessee. He’s accused of posting an ad for models in the ‘talent gigs’ section of craigslist and then raping at least one of the women that responded to his ad.

Police say that the ad posted by Tarras said he was looking for models between the age of 15 and 24. One woman who responded to his ad went to his home and Tarras took measurements and then she left. She went back when Tarras requested additional measurements had her undress and that’s when police say he raped her. Unfortunately when police contacted Tarras they did not have enough evidence to arrest him and he took off. He is believed to have hopped on a bus to Tampa, Florida. Police believe he may have more victims including minors who may be afraid to come forward because of their parents.

I’ve been blogging about the modeling scam since MySpace’s heyday. It’s a favorite go to scam that predators like to use to get their victims especially underage ones. They prey upon their vanity and convince them that a life of glamour and fortune lay ahead. Sometimes the victims are physically and sexually assaulted while other times they end up being prostituted. As always parents you should educate your kids and yourselves when it comes to this scam. Not every person is cut out for modeling and not every modeling agent in the internet is one. In this case Tarras is actually a waiter at a local pancake place. Hardly William Morris.

Smyrna police want any one who had interactions with Tarras or know of his whereabouts to contact Detective Allan Nabours at 615-267-5434.

UPDATE 4/3/2013: Tarras has been apprehended. He’s also been charged with possession of child porn and is being held on $1.5 million bond.

One of the things that craigslist has more than killers is rapists. I remember that some time ago I was asked to do a guest post for the Investigation Discovery website and they had asked me do to a post on the craigslist rapist. My reply was “Which one?” Yet people are still putting themselves out there as victims on the Sears catalog of sexual predators.

44-year-old Charles Oliver of Woodstock, Illinois has been charged with allegedly sexually assaulting several women that he met through craigslist’s personal ads and ads for escorts. Wait, weren’t they supposed to be removed from craigslist? Huh. Anyway, police know of 5 victims but say there may be as many as 20.

In once case Oliver locked the woman in his basement, another has said that Oliver flat-out raped her. The attacks were said to have taken place from November of 2011 to early this year. Police identified three other victims in their investigation.

When police investigated Oliver’s home they said they not only found videos of Oliver having sex, some consensual some supposedly not, along with the identification and personal belongings of women that did not belong to the women that have already been identified as victims. They say there may be as many as 20 victims.

Oliver was arrested in January and released on bond which of course did not deter him at all. Oliver was re-arrested in February for allegedly trying to intimidate one of the victims by confronting the woman’s husband.

Oliver is being held on $3M bond.

Ladies, if you’re in the dating scene I implore you not to use craigslist as way to meet guys. There’s way too much of a risk that you’ll meet someone like Oliver. You may think that you can spot one of these predators from miles away but I would imagine some of his victims felt the same way. As far as the professional ladies go I urge you to get out of the life. Is the money really worth being possibly locked in someone’s basement and have God only knows what done to you. Please check in your local community to see if there are resources that will help you escape the life.

As far as craigslist itself goes this just goes to show one more time that they have no interest in monitoring their own site regardless of how many people are being made victims of horrible crimes. Only when enough people stop using craigslist will they eventually take notice. There more concerned with the green ink of their money than the red blood of their victims.

UPDATE 4/1/2013: More victims have either been discovered through investigation or have come forward.

Police: Man Posts Fake Craigslist Job, Rapes Applicant:

This is another story that happened lat last month that I’m catching up on. Just because there’s been an unfortunate amount of school violence lately doesn’t mean that I’ve forgotten about you craigslist. As long as you continue being the online haven of scum and villainy that you are I will never forget.

In Nashville, Tennessee police arrested 38-year-old Timothy Story for the alleged rape of a woman. Police say that Story placed a false ad for a receptionist position on craigslist and repeatedly raped a woman who responded to the ad during a fake interview.

Here’s the thing. Job ads on craigslist are paid ads if my memory serves me correct. So for any future would be rapists out there this leads a trail right back to you. However it further proves that no section of craigslist is safe when it comes to violent criminals and sexual predators. You’d probably be safer taking your resume to your local crack house.

Hopefully his new cellies will be sticking to their Story.

In Rochester, New York police have arrested 25-year-old Michael Chess for allegedly robbing women that he met through Backpage. It seems that Chess has stepped down to armed robbery from rape.

Chess was originally arrested back in October of 2011 when he was charged for allegedly raping three women that he met through Backpage. The article implies that they were prostitutes. The trial for these charges ended in a mistrial and new trial was scheduled for January, 2013.

So while he was out on bail awaiting trial police say that instead of raping women from Backpage he just merely robbed them, at gunpoint, allegedly. In one instance the victim fought back and Chess pushed her away while in the other instance Chess received a face full of pepper spray from the victim. While these crimes may have ended at attempted robbery if the victims had not retaliated we’d probably looking at two more rape victims.

So not only is Backpage facilitating in these women being trafficked as sex slaves they also have a hand in them becoming victims of rape and robbery. But hey, it’s free speech for Backpage so it’s ok right?

Oregon Supreme Court says convictions, except rape, still stand in Tigard Craigslist case:

Ronald Leistiko of Tigard, Oregon was the first alleged craigslist rapist that I remember posting about. I now have to say alleged because his rape convictions were overturned back in back in July. Originally Leistiko was convicted of raping two women he met on craigslist and acquitted of a third. The convictions were overturned because of the victims who testified never brought charges against him.

Now the Oregon State Supreme Court has upheld all his other convictions except for the rape convictions. That means that Leistiko is still guilty of sex abuse, strangulation, kidnap, assault, delivery of cocaine, furnishing liquor to a minor and prostitution.

Leistiko is not out of the woods yet. He could be retried for the rapes or prosecutors could try to get him to plea out. Personally I hope they go back to trial. Everything I’ve read about Leistiko just screams scumbag and I think they could easily score another conviction. If they offer a plea deal I’m sure it will be for less than the pitiful 25 years he got originally.

Man Accused of Raping Woman He Met on Craigslist:

47-year-old Steven D. Kolinski of Waukesha, Wisconsin was arrested for allegedly raping a woman that he met on craigslist. The woman had placed an ad stating that she was looking for a male platonic friend. Back in September she went to Kolinski’s place to watch a baseball game when he allegedly raped her.

Not to blame the victim here because Kolinski is obviously predatory scum if the charges are true but let me let the ladies in on a few not so secrets. The first unless the man is gay single guys can very rarely be ‘just friends’ with a woman. No man willingly walks into the friend zone. The second and most obvious is craigslist is a breeding ground for rapists looking to prey upon any woman who would show them the slightest bit of kindness. It’s not just the personals either. It can literally be from any ad that appears on craigslist.

And yet people still think that craigslist is this friendly hippy commune where nothing would happen to them when in reality it’s an unmonitored wasteland of predators.

Philadelphia Man Facing Charges For Allegedly Luring Teen And Pimping Her Out On Craigslist:

21-year-old Samuel Ferraro of Philadelphia has been arrested recently and accused of repeatedly raping a 17-year-old girl and turning her out on Backp…wait. Is that right? It seems that it is. Ferraro is accused of turning the girl out for prostitution on craigslist.

Ferraro allegedly took the girl to Minnesota where he forced her to be raped by other men while he collected the money. He’s also accused of repeatedly raping the girl and threatening her with violence if she didn’t work for her.

Investigators are concerned there may be more victims, and anyone with information on Ferraro should contact the District Attorney’s Office at 215-686-5874.

Ferraro is currently being held without bail.

But let’s back up for a second. Didn’t craigslist do away with the erotic/adult services section some time ago. Yet there’s still human trafficking occurring on their site. I’m shocked. And by shocked I mean not shocked at all. All the more reason why craigslist needs to monitor and moderate their own site. The community policing did nothing to prevent the repeated rapes of this 17-year-old girl yet the media is till giving craigslist a pass. I guess it only takes grand gestures to stop sex trafficking, or at least it seems that’s what the media thinks.
